"Any two people who have played the enjoyable, acrobatic 2D PlayStation 3 downloadable game "PixelJunk Eden" might be wondering the same thing I've been wondering since I first played the game co-operatively:

How does :Eden" determine which character to lock its camera onto when one of those characters is falling to their doom and the other had been an inch away from collecting a valuable Spectra?

I got an answer from a very good authority…"

PS3Fanboy writes, "Finding the PixelJunk games frustratingly difficult? You are not alone; the guys over at TheBBPS wrote an open e-mail to Dylan Cuthbert, executive producer at Q-games, humorously complaining that his wife finds PixelJunk Monsters just a tad bit too overwhelming and requests difficulty settings for the game. Cuthbert acknowledges his prayers, stating that an upcoming free patch to Monsters will include the ability to make the game easier, or harder, than the default setting.

Cuthbert also hints a similar treatment in form of a new "more namby pamby" gameplay mode for PixelJunk Eden in a future expansion pack. He feels Eden's "controls are too much fun to waste on just one set of game rules." We can't wait!"
After all, it’s a platform game in which the objective is to grow plants by pollinating them. Hardly inspirational stuff when we could be swatting Stormtroopers in The Force Unleashed instead. And true to form, the first couple of minutes left us utterly confused and dismissive before things suddenly clicked. ...

Through proficient use of a telephone, and a little bit of luck Joystiq has found out that a demo of PixelJunk Eden will be available tomorrow on PSN. It is likely the demo will only be available on the US store as Sony Europe are still asleep in regards to all things online not planning to release the game in Europe any time soon.

Joystiq comment "We just got off the phone with Sony, trying to see if we could get more info on Fat Princess, and were told that the demo for PixelJunk Eden will be available tomorrow with the regular PSN update."

If you really want to play the demo you can always create a US account to download it when it appears. However, this account won't be much good if you want to buy the full game when it releases next week (July 31st).
The latter designer is responsible both for the title's imagery and its electronic soundtrack.

In Eden, the player takes on the role of a tiny "Grimp," (in the above screenshot you can find three of them atop the PixelJunk logo). The name is a portmanteau word for the game's two core mechanics of jumping and gripping. Your Grimp can grip, jump, and swing from plant to plant on a silk tether in the phosphorescent landscape of Eden's garden. There is something in the region of twenty hours of unique gameplay to be explored–anywhere from single-player to three-player cooperative play is supported on the title, and high score rankings will be posted online.

The next PixelJunk series title, PixelJunk Eden, is going to be featuring some of the latest in PS3 software tech. Q Games shared details on YouTube support and more today.

Eden will offer support for YouTube movie uploads, a feature that recently debuted with the Japan-only Mainichi Issyo. While details are scarce at the moment, we do know that you'll be able to record your play sessions and upload them to the video sharing service.

The title will also support an even more recent PS3 firmware addition: trophies.

Add to all this remote play through the PSP, and you have the potential for a showpiece title for the PS3's firmware updates.

Eden will hit the Japanese PlayStation Store on July 31 at 900 yen.
