Rolando creators ditching iPads to make PSN game Okabu

Developer Hand Circus is taking a break from iPads and iPhones to develop its first non-iOS title exclusively for PSN. Coming in 2011, Okabu follows an small army of cutesy cloud-flying heroes as they attempt to protect their equally-cutesy world from being overrun by the not-so-cutesy Doza.

On its website, Hand Circus describes the landscape of Okabu as, “A hyper-tactile toybox filled with a huge number of puzzles, playthings, adorable creatures and devious machines –all spread across an epic co-op campaign.”

Hand Circus has had a lot of success with its Rolando series for iOS systems, and Okabu borrows heavily from those games in terms of its tone and aesthetics. Of course, Rolando initially borrowed much of its charm and style from Loco Roco, but it's rude to point fingers.
