With the London MCM Expo taking place this weekend, 24th-25th October 2009, most publishers attending the show will be ramping-up their campaigns this week, but once again it's been left to Tecmo Koei Europe to lead the way.

This morning, it appears that Microsoft have launched a minor, and rather bizarre, marketing campaign. Directly highlighting the rivalry for those in-the-know and referring to an Xbox 360 release that's now regularly available at a discounted price, it appears Microsoft still have faith in the original release of Ninja Gaiden II.
Sounds obvious right? That’s like saying grass is green, water is wet, Ryan Seacrest is evil. Wrong. In an age where games are desperately trying to be movies, rock concerts, sporting events or fitness aids, it’s wonderfully refreshing when a game comes along that is so blatantly sure of itself and its medium. ...

Retail Scoop: New Releases Week of September 29, 2009 (News)

In affiliation with Amazon.com, TripleChat is happy to bring you the new releases each week for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable. Along with new game releases they will also highlight the top five bluray releases each week that they feel will best suite movie and TV show fans alike.

Remember last week? Remember how uneventful it was? Well guess what, that's over this week. While game wise the selection is about the same on the PS3 and PS2 – this week it is all about the PSP Go. Oh yes, after just a few short months of waiting since E3, the PSP Go launches this week (October 1 to be exact)! Included this week in their special PSP Go Launch Center are the two big releases this week for both the Go and PSP 1000-3000 and those are Gran Turismo and MotorStorm: Arctic Edge.

On PS3 the biggest release this week is the sequel to Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Slated originally as a 360 exclusive (as was the predecessor), the sequel comes to us with more features, better graphics, and maybe even more cleavage!

On the bluray side of things the biggest release this week is the 70th Anniversary Collector's Edition of The Wizard of Oz. Outside of taking a stroll down the yellow brick road, they have two animated flicks for you – one featuring Monsters and Aliens, the other featuring Superman and Batman. To finish it there is a 2003 remake of a classic coming to high def for the super low price of $10 and one of the better independent films of 2009!
Nothing can match the popularity of this product, not even a Game like Modern Warfare 2. Just take a look at the list of this Week.

"This week's update will be dominated by EA Sports, which is releasing a demo for FIFA 10, and NBA Live 10. We'll also be getting Creat Studios and Tik Games latest PSN offering, Interpol: The Trial of Dr. Chaos. For those of you in the US or EU, if you don't feel like waiting until next week for the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Demo, it will be available in the Japanese PlayStation Store this week. Also if you've got Batman: Arkham Asylum make sure to download the free Insane Night DLC. Lastly, Trine developer Frozenbyte says the long-awaited game is coming tomorrow, but given it's track record, we'll be keeping it in the Rumored Section just in case. Let's hope it's worth the wait."
Treat every battle like it’s your last, because that end-of-level boss can kill you with a single punch. Failure is a state of mind. Top among the news this week: the announcement that Sigma 2 will have online co-op, though not as part of the main game story.

According to Famitsu magazine, Sigma 2's "Team Mission" mode will offer a wide selection of one-off missions, which you can choose from freely and decide which characters you want to challenge them with. Having a second player is not a must -- you can play through the missions with a CPU-controlled ally -- but playing online is half of the fun with this sort of thing, right?
Though not discussed in any detail, nor mentioning whether it would be available as a limited edition or with every copy, a spokesperson for Tecmo Koei Europe mentioned that there was a possibility of an incentive being offered, and suggested a comic book might well be a fitting proposition.
