This morning, it appears that Microsoft have launched a minor, and rather bizarre, marketing campaign. Directly highlighting the rivalry for those in-the-know and referring to an Xbox 360 release that's now regularly available at a discounted price, it appears Microsoft still have faith in the original release of Ninja Gaiden II.
In affiliation with Amazon.com, TripleChat is happy to bring you the new releases each week for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable. Along with new game releases they will also highlight the top five bluray releases each week that they feel will best suite movie and TV show fans alike.

The ladies found in Ninja Gaiden are some sexy assassins. The skimpy outfits, tight bodies, and looks could kill people easily. In the latest Japanese commercial, they get even sexier.

With Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 not too far from release, Tecmo Koei have decided that now is the opportune time to announce the new Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Collector's Edition, which will be sold in the United Kingdom exclusively at HMV stores.
NowGamer: Tecmo Koei president Kenji Matsubara has revealed the circumstances under which the Ninja Gaiden series could be adapted to work with Sony's motion control technology
Via Official Press Release, "The most intense, challenging, action-packed ninja adventure is back and arriving exclusively on the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system this fall. The latest installment in the critically acclaimed series, NINJA GAIDEN® SIGMA 2, will be launching September 29, 2009 in North America, followed by Japan and Europe."
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 may not be coming for a little while longer (it now has an official October 1 release date in Japan), but details on the PlayStation 3 sequel update are beginning to trickle through the Japanese game media. Though not discussed in any detail, nor mentioning whether it would be available as a limited edition or with every copy, a spokesperson for Tecmo Koei Europe mentioned that there was a possibility of an incentive being offered, and suggested a comic book might well be a fitting proposition.
The event began with a presentation highlighting the completion of the merger and the official opening of Tecmo Koei Europe. With KOEI boss Kenji Matsubara in attendance, the new publisher was described as a "new force in games publishing" that plans for "new and vigorous growth in Europe". The first title to be published by the new company will of course be Ninja Gaiden S II.

Naturally, the PS3 release will see exclusive content, as Will Curley, VP of sales and marketing at TKE explains:
