Namco Bandai has remained quiet on rumours that Beautiful Katamari will be released exclusively on Xbox 360.
Xboxic has cooperated with OXM again to give the online community an early preview of upcoming material. The idea of the game hasn't changed too much from previous installments in the series: it revolves around a Prince and his Katamari, a rolling clump of objects. Starting out small, the idea is to roll over lots of different objects in the environment to pick them up and grow the ever more colorful ball. Each stage has its own bizarro objective, such as achieving a specific size for the katamari, or collecting a set amount of specific objects onto the ball.
Nominations for Develop Industry Excellence Awards are unveiled, and two developers are likely to walk away with most of them.
GamesDog Reports: "Sega has released the official 2008 Olympics games video game on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and mobile phones for those who just can't get enough of the Olympics action.
PS3 Fanboy writes: "It's another catch-up week this week, as the US finally gets its hands on Civilization Revolution and Asia is given Dark Sector and Kane & Lynch (though probably wishes it wasn't.) Europe is barren this week and the only new release of the bunch probably won't appeal to many people, unless you really love your Olympics. Here's the full release list:
Kotaku: Of all of the Olympic sports to video game translations, nothing suffers more than the gymnastic events. Sega is tackling six different gymnastic events in Beijing 2008, and while they might not give you an accurate feel for the sport they'll at least have interesting gameplay.
PS3 Fanboy writes: "Good grief, where did all these games come from? There's a lot to choose from, especially if you're in the US or Europe. Despite the quantity, there's not a huge amount of overall quality. The only games in the list worth looking at are Overlord, Bourne and Battlefield. Don't be downhearted, Asians. You've finally got your hands on The Darkness. Only a year late, then. Here's the full release list:"
