So you thought that Square Enix turned their back on Sony in favor of the almighty dollar by making FFXIII multi-platform. Well, fans of the Final Fantasy series may have their prayers answered. FFVII might be making a return to the spotlight with either a remake or a spin-off (like that of Crisis Core). Fans have been begging for this ever since Sony unveiled a tech demo of FFVII at E3 2005. The original may also be making a return by being distributed through PSN and XBLA. These rumors have gained some steam by Square Enix's Shinji Hashimoto saying, "You can look forward to the upcoming invite-only fan event DKS3713 , where we'll have a major announcement that will shock the fans in attendance." The Square Enix DKS3713 Event will be taking place on August 2nd. So, mark the date and check back soon.
Through proficient use of a telephone, and a little bit of luck Joystiq has found out that a demo of PixelJunk Eden will be available tomorrow on PSN. It is likely the demo will only be available on the US store as Sony Europe are still asleep in regards to all things online not planning to release the game in Europe any time soon.
