Not a lot of new games this week. The main releases are X-Men Origins: Wolverine available for most consoles. For the little ones Hannah Montana: The Movie Game is out this week and for you SingStar fans, SingStar Pop Edition releases for PS3.
For the new video game releases in the week ahead, Wolverine dominates all platforms in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (and X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition). A demo should be out soon. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was spotted early at Target store shelves. See if you can uncage it early! Velvet Assassin is also out this week for the Xbox 360 (and PC). It's a unique stealth action game set during World War II. PSP gamers get Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce. Check out the demo available online from the PlayStation Store to try it out.
TVGB: "Does anyone follow GameStop contests regularly? Are they all as odd as their upcoming contest for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine release? There are so many awesome features about Wolverine to pick out, but GameStop has decided that their contest should be based around his hefty mutton chops. Everyone (who is male, I guess) is invited to grow out their mutton chops and post them at GameStop.com/mutton."
10 characters have been revealed so far to appear in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. On May 1st the game arrives for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC (labeled "Uncaged Edition" and M-Rated), Wii, PS2, PSP and DS.
According to an Xbox Like Marketplace release, a demo for X-Men Origins: Wolverine is to be added to the Marketplace today, April 17th. No word yet on when the download will arrive for PSN and/or PC.
A US columnist is out of a job after posting an online review of an illegally downloaded copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Spanish website HardGame2 writes: "If there is any doubt, Activision has confirmed that May 1 will be released in Spain (and in all Europe) the official videogame of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, based on the Fox film, also released that day in our country. The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable".
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is set to be released on May 1st and Dan Vondra, Project Lead at Raven Software, stopped by the Playstation.Blog today for a live chat with fans. During the chat, Vondra revealed the game's length and a few other details about the single-player campaign.
www.pushingplay.com writes "Wolverine doesn't need a cover system, he's far too busy reflecting your rockets back at you with his claws, or using one of your pals as a battering ram and he pushes you off a broken rope bridge that he's running up. If this game turns out half as badassed as this new trailer it's going to be pretty sweet. And get this… if you pre-order the game at GameStop you get a Disememberment Room, which I can only imagine the picture above has something to do with. Hit the jump to check out the trailer."
Activision has released a new trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine that once again shows that Wolverine is a bad, bad man in this game. They've also revealed that GameStop pre-order customers will receive exclusive downloadable content for the game.
