"Valkyria Chronicles will have in early August a series of downloadable content, through an update that will just integrate those bonus in the game. Priced 300 yens (less than 2 euros), the Hard EX Mode will permit you to play nine battles in Free Battle mode in a very high mode of difficulty, even more than the original game, which is not nothing.

A new episode priced 600 yen (3.5 euros) will introduce a new character with bunches, Edie, and her battalion. A new scenario for all those who wish to extend this tactic mixing action-RPG and strategy experience. It is not known at this time if the arrival of this content is also planned at the release of the game in Europe, scheduled for next fall."

According to Impress Watch, Valkyria offer players the option for a hard disk install. The install takes up 3,336 MB and apparently cuts down load times from the 15 second waits players would otherwise have to sit through when opting to play directly from disc.

As with last month's Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan install, this install is strictly optional, so those who can't find enough space on their hard disk will still be able to play.

According to a Japanese developer blog the game Valkyria Chronicles was originally planned as an Xbox 360 exclusive game. When the game was announced however, development had already switched to the Playstation 3 platform. According to publisher SEGA the game has been in development for over three years, and had switched platform early on in development. The exact reason why the developer switched to Playstation 3 was not mentioned.

Valkyria Chronicles is currently slated to hit store shelves this Fall exclusively on Playstation 3.

SEGA is currently targeting 28th March for the release of Condemned 2: Bloodshot on PS3 and 360, and has also updated dates for Samba de Amigo on Wii and others.

Samba de Amigo will be out in summer, the publisher told Eurogamer. In the meantime, Brain Assist DS is due on 14th March, with Happy Tree Friends due for PC and 360 in summer.

SEGA Superstars Tennis, as reported recently, is down for 20th March on several formats including 360 and Wii, with Viking: Battle for Asgard PS3/360 and SEGA Bass Fishing and House of the Dead II & III Return for Wii on 28th March.

Valkyria Chronicles is due for PS3 this summer also.
