PS3 News from N4G | Prototype
PS3 - Prototype - Sierra Press Release: Prototype not so Prototypical Sierra today announced that they are working on a new title for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC which they describe as a "new kind of open-world game, featuring a rich story line of conspiracy, deception and deadly shape shifting action."

The game is being developed by Radical Entertainment, the folks behind Crash of the Titans and Scarface, and tells the story Alex Mercer, a man haunted by his past, fighting a secret war in New York City. There's action, there's conspiracy, and there's that deadly shape-shifting action, which is auto-hot. Apparently this shape-shifting power will allow the lead character to morph into people he meets in the game and steal their skills or powers.

Full press release after the jump.

Vivendi has finally released the first images of Radical's free-roaming GTA contender, Prototype, so you can see how impressive it looks for yourself (look at that crowd!) PS3 - Prototype - Radical unveils Prototype Game Informer takes the wraps off studio's new hyperviolent free-roaming action game coming 2008.

Prototype follows the exploits of Alex Mercer, who has acquired superhuman abilities as the result of a science experiment gone awry.

Radical's unique twist on the Grand Theft Auto style of play is that as Mercer kills people, he absorbs their memories, abilities, and appearance. As a result, players gain the ability to shapeshift into any one they've absorbed, and they also gain knowledge and skills. Absorbing dead foes and innocent bystanders alike also augments Mercer's biomass, making him stronger and giving him the ability to morph his body into a weapon or harden his skin in defense.

PS3 - Pure - How Disney Chose To Name Their Game 'Pure' "Pure" is an off-road, trick-oriented ATV racer, but you wouldn't know it from the title.

Most racing games attempt to be descriptive about their content in the title, but "Pure" is the opposite. It tells you nothing about the game itself.

That sounds like a risk, so MTV Multiplayer asked "Pure" game designer Chris Bowles how they came up with the name.
