EA has today announced that its upcoming NBA Live 08 is to feature eight international FIBA teams for the first time.
EA announced today that Gilbert Arenas will be the cover athlete for EA Sports' NBA Live 08. The company also confirmed that this year will mark the series' first appearance on Nintendo Wii and PS3, and that an Xbox 360 version is also in the works (via the nifty box art pictured to the left of this text) as anyone with a pulse would expect.
Some NBA teams are using NBA Live 09 as a testing device to explore the potential impact of trades and other front office roster decisions. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Rockets GM Daryl Morey said that he uses it to gauge team effectiveness when certain players have the ball.
The NBA Live 09 patch for the 360 and PS3 should be available shortly. Here is what is included.

Electronic Arts announced today that Chicago Bulls forward, Luol Deng, will be the cover athlete and spokesman for NBA LIVE 09 in the UK. Deng, raised in the UK from 1993, has played in the NBA for three years and is a vital part of the Great Britain national team. This is the first time the UK has worked with a local athlete and highlights the continued growth of the NBA in Europe.
