EA has just launched the official website for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix videogame. While Joystiq only grudgingly admit their penchant for Potter and pals, this latest game looks like it might contain real magic after all. Sandbox-style mission-based gameplay "inspired" by GTA lets you explore Hogwarts on your own schedule, reliving moments from the book along the way. The Wii version of the multiplatform game looks especially interesting with its motion-sensitive spell casting.

The website should be enough to please any Potter fanatic as it's littered with screenshots (some of which you can see right here), trailers and other things for you muggles to do while you wait for the final book. Free Radical's Karl Hilton has acknowledged that the PS3 gave the developer a number of 'stumbling blocks' when creating Haze.

Speaking to Develop, Crytek UK managing director Karl Hilton admitted that Haze "had a lot of development issues which meant it wasn't the game it should have been."

"A lot of them were technical issues," he said. "The PS3 is a powerful machine but a difficult one to get the best out of."
