By now everybody knows that Activision Blizzard didn't include "Ghostbusters," which was scheduled to come out this fall, on the list of Vivendi games it is planning to publish post-merger.

But beyond a vague statement from a PR rep that the game is "not canceled," there's been no indication yet of what will happen to the "Ghostbusters" game. Since it's so close to completion, surely it won't just be thrown to oblivion and never published, right?

Activision Blizzard have held the anti-E3 by submitting their latest release schedule with no mention of forthcoming titles Ghostbusters, Brutal Legend, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, World at Conflict: Soviet Assault, 50 Cent Blood on the Sand, Zombie Wranglers, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, as well as several Xbox Live Arcade titles.

They have already reported that the will be scaling back operations across a handful of development studios, and this latest announcement leaves these titles in doubt.

A representative from Activision Blizzard has said "We are reviewing our options regarding those titles that we will not be publishing."

We've got six new screenshots from the new Ghostbusters game, revealing for the first time original Ghostbuster Winston fighting his way through ectoplasmic slime.The screenshots seem to show heavy amount of destructible environments, authentic Ghostbuster ghosts and a whole lot of slime. We can't really think of anything else it needs.
