PS3 News from N4G | Echochrome - PS3 Network
PS3 - Echochrome - PS3 Network - Videogamer: Spring PSN updates to include flOw on PSP and Elefunk Videogamer reports that Sony has confirmed release dates for a host of upcoming PlayStation Store titles, both for PS3 and PSP via the PC PlayStation Store.

Coming to the PS3 store this month is Pain, followed by Elefunk in April and the wonderful looking echochrome in May. Pain was released on the US PlayStation Store late in 2007 and we're not entirely sure why it has taken so long to get a European release. Those that do pick the game up this month can also look forward to a bunch of new character packs.

Coming to PSP this spring are flOw and Ape Quest. flOw, a PS3 PSN launch period title, will be available for PSP this month and sees players guiding a luminous creature, hunting and eating other creatures in order to evolve. It's peaceful, calming entertainment and certainly worth a look later this month.

PS3 - Echochrome - PS3 Network - Sony preps Echochrome demo for Japan this March 6 If you're intent on getting an early run of Echochrome, then you may want to keep an eye out on the region's PlayStation Network. SCEJ has recently announced that they will be releasing a demo of this puzzle title for both the PSP and PlayStation 3 on March 6 (Thursday) next week. That's 13 days before the full game's release.

The Echochrome demo for the PSP is expected to be downloadable from Japan's PlayStation Spot locations, and the PlayStation Store (either PSP or PC). The demo's PlayStation 3 port will be available via the PlayStation Store.

PS3 News from N4G | Echochrome - PS3 Network
PS3 - Echochrome - PS3 Network - Echochrome to be released this summer While continuing to dig around for a solid answer on the PSP version of Echochrome I spoke to Scott Goryl, a Public Relations Specialist from SCEA, who told me Echochrome is actually on target for a Spring release in North America. However, this date is currently only for the PlayStation 3 version. They are evaluating the PSP version and if they will bring it to North America or not. (This is consistent with the earlier report I wrote up.)

I followed up with questions about the extra levels, if they would come out as a download pack, and if the canvas mode will remain part of the PlayStation 3 package. In response he explained, the feature list for the PlayStation 3 version has not been announced yet.

PS3 News from N4G | Echochrome - PS3 Network
PS3 - Echochrome - PS3 Network - Echochrome PSP/PS3 price difference explained The PSP version of Echochrome costs twice as much as the PS3 version, but Siliconera explains there is reason for the extra money. All of the answers are found over at Impress Watch (Japanese).

The PlayStation 3 version is actually "Echochrome: Jokyoku" or "Echochrome: Prelude" in English. For 1,800 yen ($17) you get a get a sample of Echochrome by tasting 50 puzzles. The 3,980 yen ($37) PSP version contains 100 puzzles and multiple modes including a variation where you have to avoid walking dark echoes.

Fortunately, both versions come with canvas mode, which lets players create and upload puzzles on the PlayStation Network or transfer data via the PSP's Ad-Hoc mode. With this new information the PSP version is more tantalizing. However, the cheaper PlayStation 3 version supports users-created content, which devalues the addition of the extra 50 puzzles.

PS3 News from N4G | Echochrome - PS3 Network
PS3 - Echochrome - PS3 Network - Asia gets Sony's Siliconera reports: "At the Taipei Game Show, Sony draped the curtains on a limited edition PlayStation 2 set to arrive in stores on February 4 in Asia. The new color, Aka Takara Kurenai, or (loosely) Crimson Red Treasure comes out just in time for Lunar New Year. While it superficially feels like the PlayStation 2's days are numbered since the PlayStation 3 is on the market, Sony's most popular console keeps chugging along.

Speaking of the PlayStation 3, Echochrome has a spring 2008 target in Asia. That's no where near as solid as the March 19 release date for Japan, but Echochrome is starting to blob around the world. Perhaps, Sony will announce a solid NA release date at Game Developer's Conference".

PS3 - Echochrome - PS3 Network - PAL Echochrome in Q2	Echochrome is down for release sometime in Q2 in Europe, Sony UK said this morning in response to rumours that the PSP and PSN game is set to launch in Japan on 19th March.

PS3 - Echochrome - PS3 Network - Echochrome arrives on the PlayStation Store in March Siliconera » Written by: Spencer on January 16th, 2008 @ 9:10 am

Last week Spencer mentioned Echochrome was arriving on the PSP on March 19. Now he can confirm it will arrive on the PlayStation Store as a downloadable PS3 game on the same day. The price has not been announced, but if Sony is selling the PSP version for 3,990 yen ($36) it will probably fall in the $25-$30 price range. Details are also hazy if the PSP release contains the same puzzles as the PlayStation 3 version or if you can play the PS3 release on the PSP via Remote Play. That would be an awesome idea and we'll find out soon when Echochrome arrives in Japan.
