PS3 News from N4G | Dark Sector
PS3 - Dark Sector - Dark Sector strikes back! If there is a game that can be defined as next-gen, this is Dark Sector.

In 2004, Dark Sector has been the first game announced for next-generation consoles and, since then, Digital Extremes, the software house involved in the development, has released almost no material.

However, it seems that something is getting out from the Canadian software house. In fact, the last Game Informer issue reports some interesting and exclusive info on Dark Sector, along with 3 new screenshots showing a change in game-concept course.

PS3 - Dark Void - Dark Void multiplayer mode canned

There's no multiplayer mode planned for Capcom's Dark Void, director of design Kraig Kujawa has confirmed.

"We explored it, but there are so many huge features in this game, we really wanted to focus on making the most kick-ass, single-player features possible," Kujawa told Joystiq.

And when Kujawa said the team 'explored it,' he meant the team actually built a multiplayer mode. "We had multiplayer up and going," said ...

PS3 News from N4G | Dark Void
PS3 - Dark Void - Dark Void dev explains Capcom choice Eurogamer writes: "Dark Void creator Airtight Studios has said that it chose to partner with Capcom on its upcoming cover-based third-person shooter because the publisher allows developers to innovate.

"A lot of other companies are like, 'Make it just like the last game that came out because it sells well worldwide'," lead designer Jose Perez told journalists at Capcom's Captivate 08 event in Las Vegas last week. "Capcom is known for innovation...and I just want to see their logo come up before our game."

An interesting side story in Dark Void's creation is that it sees a family of figures who worked on Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge for Microsoft Game Studios brought back together nearly five years after the game shipped on Xbox."

PS3 News from N4G | Dark Void
PS3 - Dark Void - Dark Void team considering Sixaxis use Eurogamer writes: "Dark Void developer Airtight Studios is looking at the possibility of including Sixaxis motion controls in its upcoming third-person, cover-based shooter.

Although a third-person shooter, Dark Void gives players access to a jetpack that allows them to fly around the Void realm that the game's hero, Will, is trying to escape, and it's also possible to highjack enemy UFOs and pilot them, leading to suggestions it would be a good fit for Sixaxis.

"We're exploring some things with Sixaxis," lead designer Jose Perez told Eurogamer at Capcom's Captivate 08 event in Las Vegas. 'Right now it controls very similar to Crimson Skies [the last game many of the team worked on] when you're doing the flight stuff, so it's something we're looking into.'"

PS3 News from N4G | Dark Void
PS3 - Dark Void - Dark Void is still about a year away Joystiq writes: "We were hopeful that we'd see Capcom's new jet-packed shooter Dark Void sooner rather than later, but those hopes were dashed last week at Captivate 08 when we learned that the game was still "about a year" from completion.

It was a surprise because it was being shown so early, but mainly because of how darn good it looked. If you're as hungry for Dark Void as we are, check back later in the day for our impressions of the demo we saw."

PS3 - Dark Void - 1UP: Behind the scenes at Airtight Games (Dark Void Week) Matt Leone writes: "Before I get started on the meat of this blog, allow me to plug Dark Void Week here on 1UP. We've made some changes to 1UP cover stories in recent months, and this is the first one that reflects a lot of what we're trying to do with them -- focusing on big reveals, innovative and creative games, and nontraditional types of coverage. We have plans in the works that I'm super excited about for the next few of these -- and if you're wondering, yes, we're back on a one-a-month schedule now -- but that's enough advertising. This week is all about Dark Void."

PS3 News | Dark Void
Oct 23, 2007 It's difficult to extrapolate the story, feel and impact of a game you've only seen running in trailer form. But we'll give it a go. Fortunately, Dark Void appears to be the sort of experience you can amusingly call 'WYSIWYG'. Because 'what you see is what you get' doesn't sound funny enough. Capcom's actioner blends together survival horror overtones (just look at that ghoulish logo), Ratchet & Clank high-octane gameplay and a near-Scientologist story arc. Aliens "create" us, we ...

PS3 News from N4G | Dark Void
PS3 - Dark Void - Capcom and Airtight to Enter 'Dark Void' At its Gamers Day event in London this week, Capcom announced Dark Void, an original IP developed by Airtight Games for undisclosed platforms. Airtight Games was founded in 2004 by many of the key developers behind Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge for Xbox, and also boasts Ed Fries, former VP of game publishing at Microsoft, as a co-founder.
As indicated by the leaked information on Wednesday, the brief trailer shown for Dark Void at the event depicted both sci-fi combat flight sequences and third-person action/shooter scenes, often with the main character utilizing a jetpack to navigate gravity-challenged environments.

While much of the story remains...
