PS3 - Dante's Inferno - Dante's Inferno Playable Demo At Comic-Con PlayStation LifeStyle writes, "Visceral Games', Dante's Inferno is a dark descent into hell. The entire concept is very reminiscent of God of War and there has been no end to the comparisons of the two games. One big difference was God of War III was playable at E3. Dante was only playable behind closed doors. This week, Dante has his first public gameplay demonstrations."

PS3 - Dante's Inferno - EA and DC Comics Enter Nine Circles of Hell with Dante's Inferno Comic ZoKnowsGaming writes "Visceral Games, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. today announced a collaboration with DC Comics/WildStorm to develop a comic book mini-series based on Dante's Inferno, EA's video game adaptation of part one of "The Divine Comedy." The comic will make its world debut at Comic-Con International in San Diego from July 23 – 26."

"By treating Christian religious beliefs in a trivial and cynical fashion for commercial purposes, Electronic Arts has clearly decided that it is OK to make fun of certain minority groups, as long as they are not well represented in the gaming industry. What about racial or sexual minorities? Would Take Two Interactive dare stage a fake protest by the Latino community to make fun of their sensitivity to race in Grand Theft Auto games? Would Microsoft laugh in the face of gay and lesbian groups who were banned from Xbox Live because of their sexuality?

Electronic Arts has probably anticipated the backlash, and weighed it against the benefit of free advertising. Of course, the purpose of any viral publicity stunt is to shock and amuse people, and it that sense it has been successful."
