PS3 Fanboy: "Hardcore SRPG fans love the Disgaea franchise. PS3 owners should be happy to know that the next iteration of the franchise, Absence of Justice, is a PS3 exclusive. Even better than that, the game will launch at $50, instead of the usual $60 we see for most current generation games.
PSU didn't think it was possible to expand upon a universe that already delivers countless hours of gameplay; however, Nippon Ichi has found a way by setting up a monthly expansion pack for Disgaea 3, through 2008 in Japan. There has been no clarification as to if this will make its way over to the North American or European regions as well, but much like the rest of you RPG-starved gamers, we're hoping so.

Last night publisher NIS America revealed their fall lineup, and for the first time in memory there was a lack of PlayStation support. Instead the company, known for its charming RPGs and affection for hand-drawn anime art over 3D cutscenes, revealed a major push into the Nintendo DS market. Disgaea 3 hasn't even come to North America, but PS3 gamers in Japan are eating it up.
"On April 25, Disgaea 3 will get an update with ten playable super powerful characters, nine are pictured. If you clear the game and Mao's level is higher than one of the additional characters he/she will join your party."
Speaking to videogaming247, Koei Europe's admitted it has no clue if Disgaea 3 for PS3 will make it to Europe at all. Koei handles all Nippon Ichi RPGs in Europe. The game was announced for US release yesterday, to be handled by NIS.

According to RPGFan, Nippon Ichi Software's Souhei Niikawa said in a lengthy interview with PlayStation World that fans can look forward to the announcement of various new titles for PS3 and PSP from NIS in the future. Niikawa also discussed the development of Disgaea 3 on the PS3 and the company's plans of expanding into genres other than RPGs and adventure games.
