Joystiq writes: "Tim Schafer showed us the opening cinematic for Brutal Legend at PAX, where they revealed the band that Jack Black's Eddie Riggs roadies for: Kabbage Boy. It's a band full of hipster d-bags (one guy wears a Phantom of the Opera half-mask) and they think they're metal. The only problem is that they sound like every emo-alternaband out there, much to Eddie's chagrin. There was little doubt that Double Fine's Brutal Legend was going to get slapped with an "M" rating by the ESRB. This is a game based off of heavy metal culture -- sex, drugs, rock n' roll... an Iron Maiden album cover brought to life.
So when the ESRB got their glimpse of the game's juciest bits, they walked away with a lot to say. In fact, the description found on the ESRB Web site is without a doubt the longest we've ever read. It talks of "'face-melting solos' (literally melting enemies' faces)," and "dominatrixes." It mentions main character Eddie Rigg's hot rod that bowls over enemies, "resulting in blood effects and more heads and limbs getting chopped off." There's an enemy whose tight, bondage gear outfit reveal buttocks and breasts. The words "f*ck," "sh*t," and "d*ck" are tossed around liberally.

With the release of Brutal Legend a little more than a month away, its about the time that hardcore fans start to learn about the game's achievements and trophies. EA and Double Fine have unveiled the extensive list of achievements from the upcoming action-RTS hybrid. Thankfully, the list is low on "secret" achievements and high on cleverly-named and designed tests of gaming mettle.
One particular achievement that caught GamePro's eye was "Six Degrees of Schafer," which is a viral sort of achievement that starts with Brutal Legend designer Tim Schafer. Anyone who plays against the famed developer will unlock the achievement, and anyone who plays them afterward will also gain the Gamerscore/Trophy. They're guessing most fans want to get that achievement right from Shafer himself, though.
