Kikizo: "Double Fine head also reveals extent of Jack Black's contribution, and why he thinks this time, his studio has a success on its hands."
TVGB: "Whenever a hotly anticipated game is about to hit that really can't seem to go wrong, people start wondering about future content - will there be downloadable content, an expansion, a sequel? Add someone like Tim Schafer and the words "legend" and "brütal," not necessarily in that order, to the mix and people really want to know. And Schafer really wants to tell us."
Joystiq writes: "Tim Schafer showed us the opening cinematic for Brutal Legend at PAX, where they revealed the band that Jack Black's Eddie Riggs roadies for: Kabbage Boy. It's a band full of hipster d-bags (one guy wears a Phantom of the Opera half-mask) and they think they're metal. The only problem is that they sound like every emo-alternaband out there, much to Eddie's chagrin. Hopefully we'll get to reveal who's in the band soon, until then just let your speculation run wild."
PS Blog: Like I said, this September episode is epic:
GamePro reveals three new members of the Brutal Legend voice acting crew: Kyle Gass, Brian Posehn and Steve Agee. They also reveal the roles they'll be playing in the upcoming game.
There was little doubt that Double Fine's Brutal Legend was going to get slapped with an "M" rating by the ESRB. This is a game based off of heavy metal culture -- sex, drugs, rock n' roll... an Iron Maiden album cover brought to life.
Oh, Brütal Legend. We thought you were going to be different. You're a rebel. You're rokken. You're not supposed to be ... corporate. So why are you doing this cheesy pay-for-access-to-the-demo thing that other pinhead games started?
With the release of Brutal Legend a little more than a month away, its about the time that hardcore fans start to learn about the game's achievements and trophies. EA and Double Fine have unveiled the extensive list of achievements from the upcoming action-RTS hybrid. Thankfully, the list is low on "secret" achievements and high on cleverly-named and designed tests of gaming mettle.
I'm sure all of you are excited about Electronic Arts' upcoming game Brutal Legend, staring Jack Black. So we wanted to let you all know of a great contest going on right now over at the Brutal Legend Facebook Fan Page. Here is a great chance to win a very cool prize (one of five limited edition Eddie Riggs statues) in anticipation of its release. So for all of you that are interested, please check out the details after the jump.
On the heels of EA's announcement that Brutal Legend would get a pre-launch demo in September, Double Fine has revealed that pre-order customers will get their hands on it before anyone else.
