One of this year's most innovative videogames will get a blazing rework for its PLAYSTATION3 computer entertainment system debut this November as ATARI ignites Alone in the Dark: Inferno. Development studio Eden Games has responded to the feedback of media and gamers and has turned up the heat to deliver an even more entertaining, immersive and action-packed blockbuster experience for PLAYSTATION3. The hosts of sizzling gameplay enhancements, red-hot content and the hellish storyline have inspired the name Alone in the Dark: Inferno for the ultimate Alone in the Dark experience on PLAYSTATION3 system...
That Gaming Site Writes: "Since it's release Alone in the Dark has received some pretty harsh criticism regarding the control scheme. Even we here at That Gaming Site admit the controls could use some work! Atari has taunted us with a patch that may never make it to the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game! Instead of waiting for the day that may never come we have found a way to make your experience with the controls a little more tolerable!"
MTV Multiplayer's Patrick Klepek reports:
Atari has released a list of the changes to be made in the PS3 version of Alone in the Dark, not due out until November this year.
Eden Studios has said that it is working on a patch for the Xbox 360 version of Alone in the Dark to bring it into line with the heavily reworked PS3 version.
PS3 Fanboy writes: "The long-delayed PS3 version of Alone in the Dark looks to be coming with enhancements ... and a price cut? A Gamestop listing shows Atari's survival horror game with a very nice price of $30. Of course, considering the overwhelmingly negative critical reviews it received when it debuted on Xbox 360, a lower price may still not justify a purchase."
Antoine Villette, founder of I Am Alive developer Darkworks, has told VG247 he believes Alone in the Dark can still be great, but only if Atari is prepared to make radical changes to its format.
