Sega has served up a new video for Virtua Tennis 3, the next generation in the best tennis series around, and it looks brilliant. It's not so much the super-sharp visuals that impress the most, but the new, liquid-smooth animation that the next-gen power of PS3 and Xbox 360 can throw around.
All the regular Virtua Tennis features make an appearance - career mode, technique-enhancing minigames and a superbly intuitive control system. And Virtua Tennis 3 is set to add more of everything, with
One of the more interesting games we got to try out at E3 was Monster Madness, a cartoony, four-player overhead horror shooter in the vein of musty classics like Smash TV and Zombies Ate My Neighbors. Refreshingly simple but incredibly slick-looking, it lets players team up or fight each other as a squad of misfit suburban teenagers who appear to be the only survivors when their neighborhood is overrun by monsters.
Our trailer shows generous chunks of the game in action, including footage from
According to Sony Computer Entertainment's president and CEO Ken Kutaragi, the PlayStation 3 isn't a game console, it's an upgradeable computer.
Kutaragi was speaking with Japanese computer website PC Watch when he referred to PS3 saying "we don't say it's a games console; PS3 is clearly a computer." Consequently, it will be able to evolve over time as new technology becomes available, something Sony's been hinting at for some time. Kutaragi continued, "I think the HDD will gain in capacity.

Nintendo is anticipating a fairly painless Wii launch in terms of the impact it has on the Japanese gaming giant's earnings, while Sony expects heavy losses from the outset.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told a press conference that he can't "promise [Nintendo] won't have even a one yen loss" but the company is not expecting an enormous loss.
Iwata believes that if Nintendo meets its six-million-console sales target and a 17-million-software-unit sales target before

Kaz Hirai, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc, is more than happy to follow Microsoft's lead with online gaming and actually expressed gratitude saying "thank you, Microsoft, for helping us in taking consumers online."
Hirai believes that, with the launch of PlayStation 3 looming, Sony is in the perfect position to capitalise on all the work Microsoft has done with Xbox Live in developing online gaming.
Sony understands the importance of online gaming as

PlayStation 3 will launch with the crucial components of a PS2 embedded into its architecture, enabling owners to play every PS2 game ever released.
Both PS2's Emotion Engine and graphics chip will be included in PS3's hardware - in a similar way to how PS2 contains parts from PSone - claims Japanese tech magazine Ultra One. But the benefits of next-gen, plus PS3's ability to go online to download new software, means that every old game should work - unlike with PS2, which
Vision Gran Turismo - the purebred next-gen step for the seminal racing series - won't appear until next year at the earliest (and it almost certainly won't have that name, either). But these new images of Gran Turismo HD from Sony give us an idea of how stunning it will look. A highly-polished version of Gran Turismo 4, GT HD was shown at this year's E3 and boasted bigger race grids of 12 cars and far more detail than its PS2 sibling.

The annual Game Critics Award winners have finally been released, much to the elation and delight of the winners and the certain soul-crushing dismay of those who didn't quite take home the trophy. We would mention how surprised we are that Excite Truck managed to pull in best racing game honors or that Wii Sports has trumped publisher Electronic Arts' sports dynasties Madden and NCAA Football, as well as the NBA 2K series from 2K Sports - but given that Wii managed to pull in best of show, it

PlayStation 3 will be the only device you will need for gaming, watching movies, browsing the web and many other activities usually associated with PCs, according to the head of Sony's Worldwide Studios.
"Once you adopt a game system as your primary entertainment device, that's what you want," reckons Sony's Phil Harrison. "We think that PlayStation 3 is the place where our users will be doing a lot of other computer entertainment functions. That will satisfy them.
A new trailer of the Dirty Harry game for PS3 and Xbox 360 gives you a good look at the character model for the legendary cop.
Published by Warner Bros Interactive and developed by The Collective (who did the recent Da Vinci Code game ), Dirty Harry puts you in control of Clint Eastwood's borderline-psycho cop Harry Callahan as he polices the streets of San Francisco.
The game fits into the Dirty Harry timeline somewhere between the first and second films, but WB has so far been quite
