Phil Harrison, Executive Vice President of SCEE, has been speaking about PS3 and how things have been progressing as we approach the November launch and he believes that "it's all going well".
Talking to the Guardian he stated that Sony is "in full swing, from a developer point of view, and over 10,000 development kits have been shipped. Developers now have final hardware in their hands, though there will be some upgrades to the operating system - there's nothing unusual

The panel for the 2006 Golden Joystick Awards has announced the shortlists for the 16 prize categories that gamers will be able to vote for in the months leading up to the November awards show.
The 2006 Golden Joystick Awards are for games released between 1 August 2005 and the 31 July 2006, a period which saw some amazing handheld games released, which is reflected in the shortlists with games such as Mario Kart DS and GTA Liberty City Stories featuring heavily.

The Electronic Entertainment Exposition is dead. As we reported yesterday, organiser the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has cancelled the E3 trade show as we know it, and today has made an official announcement on the fate of the world's biggest videogame exhibition, effectively downsizing the event into a low-key, more industry-focused meeting.

PlayStation 3 will have its own version of Xbox 360's Achievements which will be called Entitlements, according to current industry rumours.
The reports, which originate from a podcast by US games mag EGM, have been termed "purely speculation" today by a Sony spokesman.
