It just might solve PSP and PS3's software problems
GamesIndustry.biz reports that Sony is almost ready to roll with its PlayStation download service. According to GI - via an interview with Japanese business website NikkeiBP - the service will begin to offer downloadable PSone games this November, which just so happens to be about the same time the PS3 launches. You'll be able to stick 'em on your PS3, PC or PSP, if all goes well. Unfortunately, the company is keeping tight wraps on any
Here's two brand new Tony Hawk's Project 8 videos for you to gaze at in dumbfounded awe. You'll finally see the literally amazing visuals from this staggeringly next-gen version of the cosmic overlord of the board. Months ago, Activision dropped by to show us the early rough-cut of the game, and we raved then, but now you actually get a chance to see what that raving was based upon simply by clicking the Movies tab

Sony Europe's official PS3 page has just launched, currently with a minimum of content but promising more in the build-up to the console's launch in November.
Situated in a living room that, like PS3 itself, looks too expensive to risk leaving your value-depleting fingerprints on, the site is to feature 'The PS3 Stories', a series of short films vaguely related to PS3's capabilities.
Only two of these 'stories' are currently viewable but one contains an unexpected

Those planning to buy a PS3 when Sony launches its new console in November will have to pay a little extra for the full hi-def experience, with the HDMI cable being supplied separately to the console package.
PS3's much-trumpeted HDMI output capability - High Definition Multimedia Interface, the current king of the high-definition displays - already comes at a higher price than the basic model console, but the official American PS3 site has recently revealed that

The PS3 version of Fight Night Round 3 allows you to play bouts in first-person with its Get in the Ring mode, as we reported last week, and it seems the developer is really pushing for the most realistic experience PS3 can offer.
An interview with the game's producer has revealed that there's more to the new mode than a change of camera, with a variety of audio and visual injury effects portraying your fighter's response to being clobbered.

Wii may Rez-urrect popular shooter
According to several internet sites who apparently get their mail sooner than we do, the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly has some great rumors about upcoming Wii games.
The first rumor is that a Wii-only follow-up to the cult-favorite PlayStation 2 shooter Rez may be in the works. Which would be phenomenal. There's no way the world-at-large - which bought over a million copies of Vivendi's awful 50-Cent game - has the class to make the sequel to a
Assassin's Creed will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 early next year, despite common belief that the medieval murder game would be exclusive to PS3, at least for a short period of time. And, with the game being confirmed for PC yesterday it looks like the PS3-fanboy party over 'owning' Assassin's Creed is well and truly over.
Set - at least primarily - in Damascus and the Middle East in 1191 AD, Assassin's Creed tells a story of the first assassins, agents of death who

It really has the lot: Alyx and the G-Man together at last, scenery-shredding demonstrations of the 'cinematic physics' effects being added to the engine, Strider-detonating sticky bombs, a Dog-vs-Strider face-off, Judith's apparent demise... and, yes,
Fight Night Round 3 has been announced for PS3, which has left us reeling like a mind-sick fighter on the end of a 30th round uppercut, as it's not even two years since the game was originally unveiled to tout PlayStation 3's next-generation visual clout. But, fortunately, there's also some new features added to the Sony-bound version, which at least makes publisher Electronic Arts' message newsworthy.
Most interesting is the "Get in the Ring" mode, which expands on 360's occasional bout of
