When you're sitting at home playing a game, controller in hand, ass on sofa, it's easy to forget how much goddamn work goes into making our most favourite form of entertainment. So before picking up Uncharted 3 next week, you owe it to developer Naughty Dog to check out the first in a trilogy of behind-the-scenes videos and see just how much effort was put into making the most realistic sand interaction in a video game probably ever.
Fighting game expert
Maximilian has returned with your old pal Doctor Doom to teach us another lesson
about the new characters added to Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. We already saw
the dangerous duo give us a lengthy rundown on how best to use Strider and Hawkeye,
now we get some real insight into the controls of Nemesis and Dr Strange. Plus
Max and Doom make a new friend.
THQ has released a party-sized haul of screens for the upcoming UFC Undisputed
3, and the game's attention to detail is apparent in every one of the new
glimpses. Fighters drip sweat, bruise and bloody each others' pretty faces, and
grimace at the receipt of a particularly palpable blow. Yes, that's real pain
these digitized brawlers are feeling: this isn't professional wrestling,
Because DLC season passes are all the
rage these days, Sony has announced Uncharted 3's very own DLC
pre-order incentive program called the Fortune Hunters' Club. Though
the name suggests otherwise, the club does not offer the
opportunity to join others in a globe-trotting quest for untold
treasures and riches. On the upside, it does allow players to
save 45% on the next seven multiplayer packs - which is just as good
for Nathan Drake fans who are planning to eat up everything Naughty
Dog's action game has to offer...
Your wallet is probably hurting as we’re now entering the time of year when seemingly every publisher throws their biggest games at you, hoping to soak up all your money like cash sponges. It really picked up this week with Batman, continues with Battlefield 3 next week, then November begins with Uncharted 3 when all hell breaks loose (just look at a release calendar for November 15 if you don’t believe us). Even though Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is still a couple weeks away, Sony released the launch trailer now and it’s an amazing extended look at the game… as long as you don’t mind a few cool game moments being spoiled…
What's Han Solo doing playing Uncharted 3? Oh, right - it's Harrison
Ford, who also played Indiana Jones - the clearest logical inspiration
for Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series. Got it. So no Ewoks? No. Good.
With that clarified, it appears Sony's managed to snag the rightly
famous actor and film him playing the new game for a series of
commercials in Japan. His verdict? Well, see that for yourself!
Galactus may not be Jack Kirby and Stan Lee’s most important
gift to comics when compared to Iron Man, Captain America, the X-Men, Avengers,
or Fantastic Four, but he’s still a pretty big deal, and the kind of cosmic
threat worthy of being a game’s final boss. Obviously playing as him in a
normal match would break the game, but we still yearn to feel a fraction of his
humungous power, and Capcom is finally going to give us a taste. This weekend
Capcom confirmed a new playable Galactus mode is in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
along with Galactus-centric, post-launch free DLC...
With less than two weeks until Uncharted 3's US launch on November 1st, Drake
fans won't have long left to wait until embarking on the game's single-player
campaign. Here's the TV spot that'll taunt you with a few of the game's money shots.
And while Naughty Dog has confirmed the game's DLC will be restricted to new
multi-player content, it's fair to say single players will have plenty to be
getting on with...
One is the loneliest
number that you'll ever do in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, judging by
Naughty Dog's latest Buddy System and Treasures trailer. Two, however, can be
as bad as one if your online ally happens to suck and/or suffer from commitment
issues in the middle of a match. See for yourself why it pays to team up and
track down treasures with a friend (or not) in the studio's latest multiplayer
Though Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3’s roster additions were leaked
as soon as the game was announced, it’s still cool to see the new characters in
action, especially when it’s the star of a puzzle-based, lawyer game. Since we
first found out Phoenix Wright was in UMVC3, we excitedly speculated just how a
character known for talking and presenting evidence could beat up the Hulk.
With today’s first videos of Ace Attorney gameplay (plus footage of Marvel’s
top space knight, Nova), the mystery is revealed. TAKE THAT!
