Publisher Ubisoft has announced that it will release Rayman 4 this Christmas for next-gen and current-gen machines. Michel Ancel, superstar creator of platforming hero Rayman and the excellent Beyond Good & Evil, will spearhead the development of the latest game in the cartoon action series.
Ubisoft expects the new Rayman "to sweep players off their feet," an ambitious leap for the decade-spanning Rayman series. But with Ancel at the creative wheel, we're hoping Rayman

Senior vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, George Fornay, has sparked renewed speculation as to the price of PS3, suggesting that Sony's next-gen console would be expensive in terms of a gaming console, but an absolute bargain when its Blu-ray and HD capabilities are added to the equation.
Fornay compared the price of PS3 with other consoles and Blu-ray players and seemed to hint that Sony's machine would fall somewhere between the 500 and 1000 Euro
During an interview with French radio station Europe 1, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Vice President George Fornay let slip some details about PlayStation 3 pricing plans. According to Fornay, the PS3 will likely debut in November at around 500 euros, although he added that the price could range between 499 and 600 euros.

"We are the pre-eminent brand for interactive entertainment worldwide. We have a reach and a market share that dwarfs our competition. Now, maybe in the US it's not such a runaway leadership - Microsoft is definitely a more vigorous competitor there than anywhere else in the world - but in some countries, PlayStation is the videogame business," he told

We've got just one shot of upcoming PS3 title Lair to show off, but it's a goodie. Factor 5's dragon combat game looks to be one of the most impressive of PS3's game-in-progress prospects, and one about which very little is known.
Still, as this new shot demonstrates, it's likely to be centred on airborne squad scraps - notice the D-pad commands in the top left? We'd gladly attack turrets if we were piloting that leathery, fire-puking
After more than four years in the making, Blizzard has announced that it has indefinitely postponed production of its tactical action game StarCraft: Ghost, which was due to appear on PS2 and Xbox later this year.
Blizzard points to its desire to "focus the company's console development efforts on the next generation of console platforms" as the reason behind the decision, and that over the coming months it will "further evaluate the next-gen console technology and determine the best plan of
Journalists and developers expected to see the latest tricks of the Unreal Engine at Epic Games' private demo at the Game Developers Conference this week - but they didn't necessarily expect to see both Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 2007 running on next-gen development
