It's that magical time of the year again. Time for family and togetherness. Time for snow and twinkling lights. Time for cookies, candy canes and that barely liquefied nightmare we call egg nog. But, most importantly, time for school vacation, paid days off and a whole bag of new games to play while gathered around the comforting and crackling warmth of our television sets. Yes, it's what the holiday season is all about and we're here to help you make the most of it.
But with a whopping seven
Seeing as Virtua Fighter 5 is one of the most visually pleasing next-gen games around, we thought we'd share some more shots of it with you. Nope, didn't think you'd complain.
Since its release in Japanese arcades earlier this year VF5 has proved to be the choice for hardcore fighting fans thanks to its subtle but extremely complex fighting system that encourages gamers to develop a strong defense and a counter-attacking
This is it, folks: the Holy Grail of the 2006 holiday season. If you want to get one of these before the end of the year, you've got three choices: chase down rumors and wait in line outside stores, pay extra on eBay or get a high-profile job in the game industry. Even if you manage to find a store that has them in stock, expect to pay at least $500 for the bare-bones model, which features a 20GB hard drive, or $600 for one that packs in a 60GB hard drive, a built-in reader for three types of
Though we and everyone else kinda saw it coming, publisher Ubisoft announced today that Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is getting a sequel. It is scheduled to hit shelves in Spring 2007 for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and PSP.
The original was one of the first games to offer a truly next-gen experience, technically and graphically, so it will be quite a challenge for the developers to "wow" us all over again. At the moment, they're promising better AI, morphing light and shadows and shifting weather

One of the most exciting Xbox 360 games for 2007 is Mass Effect, the hot new RPG from powerhouse developer BioWare (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic). In September, Microsoft hosted the X06 conference in Barcelona to give us a look at its lineup. The Mass Effect trailer there dazzled attendees, and it's finally going to hit Xbox Live and the official website this Friday... meaning tomorrow. We'll link you to the forum thread with its measly details, just so you know for sure.

PSP game Tekken: Dark Resurrection could become available for download for PlayStation 3, a move that would really up the ante for online distribution of games.

With this news coming from Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, it is also claimed that the graphics will be
Ricky Gervais... not a gamer
Wired News got a chance to sit down with Ricky Gervais - one of the men behind The Office, as well as the recent HBO series Extras - about his throughts on video games and technology, given his appearance in Scarface: The World is Yours. Wired News asks, "Did they show you what your video game character looked like?"
It's arguably the most visually impressive of the all the PS3 launch games, so we thought we'd bring you some more jaw dropping images of Sony's off-roader, MotorStorm.
The new shots focus on the dramatic crashes that occur in the race, something you should prepare yourself for. MotorStorm is a particularly tough challenge thanks to the rugged terrain and uncompromising AI
