Sony has revealed an online update for the awesome muddy-racer, MotorStorm, that will add a new game mode to the menus and fix a number of glitches.
Here's the blurb: "In Time Attack gamers can set their best times on each track with any available vehicle classes, then race against 'ghost' laps in subsequent Time Attack races. Extra-fast times will see your ghost laps automatically uploaded to the global leader boards for others to compete with. Additionally, gamers will have the option of
Critically acclaimed developer Free Radical, creator of TimeSplitters and now the murky future-shooter Haze, believes that next-gen games should push us into new, mature territory, and that devs should be looking "beyond the technology" and instead focus on changing what it means and feels like to play videogames.
Using Bungie's blastacular Halo 3 as an example, Haze scriptwriter Rob Yescombe believes that "while Halo is brilliant, you're a teenager - the next-gen is about becoming more
What - did you think the Birdman was going to sit this year out? Goodness no. Activision announced today that Mr. Hawk is planning a visit to every console worth owning. (Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2 and Nintendo DS - and probably a cell phone and PSP somewhere down the line) If the arcade-style sprints of Downhill Jam on the Wii and recently released on PS2 (today's review) weren't enough to tide you over, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is bringing the game back to a more personalized and
A version 2.0 update of the PS3 firmware is due to go live soon, according to a post on the PlayStation.com forums, and is packed with just about as many new features as you could possibly hope for.
The most prominent new features of the bunch include "Theme Settings" and a "wallpaper" option, which will allow you to personalize your PS3 as you can do with PSP.
An RSS feature is also reported to be included, as well as the ability to access the XMB (XrossMediaBar) during gameplay.

Metal Gear Solid 4 will now not see the light of day, in the US at least, until March 2008 if reports from major games retailer, EB Games prove to be accurate.
Customers who have signed up for updates on the progress of Konami's stealth stunner have, according to Gameswank, received and email notifying them that the games release has slipped from September 1 2007 to March 1 2008.
Retailers' release dates aren't always accurate, but this is worrying news for PS3 owners. We'll be contacting
An overwhelming majority of gamers are male, so it makes perfect sense for every marketing team in the world to target their software at young guys. And what do all men ages 18 to one zillion love? Girls, gore and big loud machines. If they could make a game about a firefighting bikini squad that hunts down zombies in a decked-out sex/fire truck, world peace would be declared. But until that day, we have to settle with regular old T & A.
Developers are well aware of this, so occasionally
Weve been slamming just about every hate-worthy topic in the gaming industry this week from the YouTube idiots to the never ending console wars. But weve still got a lot of pet peeves up our sleeves. In fact, we still need to get a few things off our chest by venting our frustrations regarding our most loathed objects of hate. Some of them are people: rude boys lurking in team-based shooters out there in cyberspace. Some are more tangible, like the Red Ring of Death that drills a hole through
Rockstar vice president of creative Dan Houser has been talking about why the firm decided on New York as the setting for GTA IV.
"We've always wanted to do New York properly," he said in the latest issue of the UK's Official Xbox Magazine. "With GTA III we were dealing with so many technical issues that we didn't really think trying to make somewhere like a real place was important at the time and then we discovered later that gave an added element of content to the place."
He added, "We've
Okay, so the image is fairly self-explanatory. We've noticed - following intricate scouring of scant GTA IV materials - that one of the most pronounced advances in GTA's character model, apart from the more natural way Niko walks and climbs is in the hand modelling.
While in the past Tommy, CJ and 'the other guy' have sported the equivalent of a LEGO man's plastic appendage - a mere hand-textured paddle to slot in a gun or baseball bat - Nico has a proper veiny hand with knuckles and wrinkles
We've known for some time that a new game in id Software's Wolfenstein FPS series is in the pipeline and it now appears that Raven Software is handling development of the title.
A report appearing on WISC-TV has linked the Quake IV developer with the Wolfenstein game in an article that's focused on current hardware technology and computer animation.
The report's been picked up by Yahoo News and it's said the title will be out in 2008. The only other real piece of information concerns the
