American PS3 owners won't be denied a chance to cower whimpering in the Normandy mud while shells thunder around them, thanks to the upcoming port of Call of Duty 3. Click the Movies tab above for Sony's Gamer's Day teaser trailer.
Having recently re-experienced the absolute screaming chaos of battle in the 360 version, we're a little concerned that the PS3 version hasn't been given as much time in the oven - with at least one layer of grime and gritty detail missing. Even so, it's no visual

A deluge of next-gen shots from the second level of Call Of Duty 3 shows US infantry attempting to storm a fortified area that has a distinct rural flavour - in sharp contrast to the urban setting of the previously-revealed images from the game's opening scenes.
The action, set in an area called The Island, is then made even more dramatic by being set at twilight in the middle of a ferocious rain storm.
As there are few buildings or walls to use as cover, the soldiers

Call of Duty 3 features a stronger multiplayer section than the previous games in the series did, not least because of the introduction of vehicles - tanks, jeeps and motorbikes all feature in 360's Xbox Live 24-player matches.
While multiplayer scraps will never match the intensity of the single-player game's scripted blitzkrieg, it could still be a lot of fun - even if we're not exactly short of online games to play where we shoot lots of soldiers.
Hopefully some
We've got a new video of Call of Duty 3 gameplay footage to offer today. It's apparently taken from the Xbox 360 version of the game currently in development (we spotted the blue X button on the menus) but we expect the PS3 and Wii versions won't be far off. The video features everything you want to see in Call of Duty - exploding tanks, sneak attacks, surprise grenades and, in the climactic finale, a desperate dagger attack from a crazed Nazi, complete with "blut und ehre" - "blood and honor"

This explosive dose of new footage from Call of Duty 3, the souped-up war shooter heading to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, promises some truly shattering action - including destructible environments, mass conflict and a few alarmingly low-flying aircraft. Hit the movies tab above for the exciting new vid.
We hunkered down in the mud for a gameplay session just last month, and 360 gamers will get to sign up to the cause before Christmas; PS3 owners will obviously have to
We sort of thought the Guinness Book of World Records was a collection of definite, measurable achievements. Like, that's pretty much everything it represents... or not - the latest edition of the Guinness Gamers' Edition contains a list of the top 50 game series, not by total sales or anything factual like that, but as determined by a poll. It's horrific.
See the whole list inside...

Above: A more videogame-like college experience could level the playing field by providing easier access to higher education, claims Pawlenty
Wouldn’t it be cool if you got to play videogames at home instead of attending lectures at a university? It sounds like the sort of idea a teenager might come up while daydreaming in the classroom. But the proposal favoring a remote learning system that favors interactive games over traditional lectures comes from former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty…

The end credits of a game are usually by far the worst part. We're not talking about the game's ending here. Those can be spectacular. No, what we mean is the actual credits themselves. Not only are they the visual death toll of another game over, but all they offer you in consolation is the boring visage of a lot of names scrolling up the screen. And these days it's a lot of names. Back in the 8-bit home computer days we usually got away with one guy's signature on a title

Activision has confirmed some of its releases for next year and Call of Duty will return, as will Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero.
The US publisher had to make a statement to city money men regarding forthcoming releases and the line-up was comprised of a mix of established games and big licensed products.
World Series of Poker has also been confirmed and will be accompanied by such film spin-offs as Spider-Man 3, Transformers and Shrek 3. There will also be another Marvel

And were please to report its every bit as satisfying as it looks.
An especially nice feature is the inclusion of assist points. Remember the intense feeling of anger you get after off-loading an entire clip into an enemy only for a team mate to
