Need for Speed Carbon

When a sequel's not a sequel, the streets have no name, and the sun never shines - thank goodness the racing still kicks ass

Don't let that laundry list of niggles deter you from Need for Speed Carbon - it's still a great time; we just didn't anticipate things from the 360 version being scaled back, even slightly, for PS3. But this is admittedly the first NFS for PS3 and the second for 360. And gameplay wise, so what if Carbon isn't redefining the street racing genre - really, at this point, what could? It still hits a sweet spot of intensity, danger, and style.
You'll love
  • Slick, solid racing controls
  • Wide selection of sweet rides
  • Scads of customization options
You'll hate
  • Not too much new stuff
  • Repetitive wingman chatter
  • It's never daytime
