OK, so my trash-talking is nearly as embarrassing as my real-life attempts to play basketball. Who cares? I have NBA 2K7. All the elements are here -- superb presentation that mimics a TV broadcast, players who look, move and perform like their real-life counterparts, a variety of modes and a challenging, yet fair, learning curve.

The next time EA decides to put an athlete who's an actual gamer on their NBA Live cover, it might help to have vetted him first. As Jon Robinson of IGN points out in a piece about who will replace Shaq as NBA 2K's cover athlete, Gilbert Arenas would have made sense. In a Q&A session on NBA.com last November when Arenas was asked if he plays NBA Live he answered, No. I play NBA 2K. It's real, the NBA 2K. The other one, now ... it's too fake.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced that PLAYSTATION®3 will be launched in the PAL territories including the United Kingdom on 23rd March 2007 at a price of £425.

A Playstation 3 owner spotted this interesting typo in the NBA 2K7 instruction booklet for the Playstation 3. It mentions a vibration feature which we all know is not available at this time on the PS3. This how sparked alot of questions over the net and the Playstation Message Boards where the below picture and story originally broke. Is this a sign of something to come? New York-based Take-Two today revealed that it currently has 20 games in development for the PlayStation 3, including more than seven titles from Grand Theft Auto house Rockstar Games. The publisher confirmed that Grand Theft Auto IV will arrive on PS3 on October 16, 2007 in North America (the game is set for simultaneous release on Xbox 360). Rockstar's releases also include the Team Bondi-developed crime thriller L.A. Noire and forthcoming extensions of blockbuster Rockstar Games franchises. In addition, over eleven titles are in development from the publisher's 2K and 2K Sports divisions. NBA 2K7 and NHL 2K7 are day one launch titles, while College Hoops 2K7, Major League Baseball 2K7, The Darkness, The BIGS, NBA 2K8 and NHL 2K8 are a few other 2K titles that will be hitting Sony's next-gen platform.

Two more titles have been officially added to the PlayStation 3 North American launch list. NBA 2K7 and NHL 2K7 will be available November 17. NBA 2K7 offers 1080p support and uses the SixAxis controller for a new free-throw shooting system. NHL 2K7 ties goalie movements to the SixAxis and for checking other players. Both games can be played online. With the power of the PlayStation 3 system, 2K Sports continues to make remarkable strides in the development of next-generation console games, said Greg Thomas, President of Visual Concepts. The capabilities of the Cell processor have allowed us to deliver the next-generation quality of visuals and fluid animations that gamers expect. The SixAxis wireless controller will introduce an entirely new way for gamers to enjoy our titles and give our development teams new, exciting ideas to bring unique features to our sports titles.
