After years of planning and absorbing the high cost of making PS3 3D-ready, Sonys plans for 3D gaming are finally coming into fruition. Throughout 2010 so far, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) have become the standard bearer for 3D technology in home videogame systems. While it would be possible for any games system currently on the market to produce stereoscopic 3D games as both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 have done in the forms of Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao and James Camerons Avatar: The Game its SCE that have taken-up the mantle and decided to become the standard bearer for the technology. Today, that agenda has become clearer than ever, as SCE has begun promoting the technology as part of a new consumer campaign for both PlayStation 3 and the recently launched BRAVIA 3D TV series.

The Lost Gamer writes: Ahead of their launch of their upcoming 3D TV range, Sony Europe has announced that they are to provide free 3D stereoscopic game titles for PS3? with every 3D TV purchase.

It's that time of year, everyone is decorating their Christmas trees and putting up their stockings as they count down the time to the big day. As an early Christmas present, and to celebrate PlayStation Home's first Birthday, Sony has announced a myriad of gifts and treats for their European Home users.

PSblog: 'Happy holidays Home-people! We here on the PlayStation Home team are pleased to announce that we are kicking off the holiday season in a big way come this Thursday, December 10th. We have quite a few surprises lined up for you, and I don't want to give away too much too soon, but it's safe to say that this year's festivities will run for the remainder of the month and will include some very surprising developments. That is, of course, assuming the entire community works together to solve the puzzles (and collect the rewards) associated with the huge Festive Tree, coming to Central Plaza this week. Peep the picture below (smuggled out of the developers' offices by yours truly) for a sneak peek of what's in store for you. And make sure you log in every day throughout the holiday season to solve puzzles, unlock rewards, and help transform PlayStation Home into the premier party destination for the New Year.'
