The PS Blog is reporting that a new, improved demo of the off-road racing game, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, will be released on the PSN today. As Nigel Kershaw, Game Director of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, puts:

Last week we reported on the 1.01 update for Motorstorm: Pacific Rift being released in error, Evolution have released some information about it, addressing what to do if you managed to download it before it was pulled off the servers;
MotorStorm®: Pacific Rift Update (Version 1.01) was erroneously released on the European PlayStation®Network, for a short period, due a server-based issue which has now been addressed.
If you have installed MotorStorm®: Pacific Rift Update (Version 1.01), you may continue to play MotorStorm®Pacific Rift with the update installed; it will not harm your game or your PLAYSTATION®3 and has been thoroughly tested and approved for release.

'Two of the best PlayStation 3 racing game developers are to eventually merge under one roof.
Developer Evolution Studios were purchased by Sony Entertainment in 2007, and have since released a successful sequel to their racing classic MotorStorm.
It's well known that the team shared not only their PlayStation 3 engine but also their knowledge with Sony Studio Liverpool in the creation of WipEout HD. The collaboration resulted in a stunning full-1080p, 60 frames-per-second futuristic racer.
When asked whether the studios would merge completely in the future, Denny replies;
"Yes, it was always the intention with them being in the same geographic location and working so closely together, it would be ideal if they could be housed at some point within the same site, but it's not happening overnight."'

The feeling of 'deja vu' is in the air, since this is the fourth consecutive week Call of Duty: World at War remains in the top of the charts.
Activision has hit the jackpot with their "one CoD per year" tactic. The next Call of Duty Modern Warfare title is due to visit us in Fall 2009.

"So MotorStorm: Pacific Rift has been out a couple of weeks, and we're all back from our vacations, rested, refreshed and ready to give you a run for your money on the online leaderboards in Time Attack.
If you're not familiar with Time Attack in the MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, it's a game mode where you attempt to get the best lap time possible using one of the vehicle classes on one of the 16 racetracks in the game. It's different than regular MotorStorm racing, as it's just you on the track with no opponents to worry about, and it's all about getting around the track in one piece. If you crash or manually reset the track during the course of a lap, then that time will not be uploaded to the online leaderboards."

Sony New Zealand has announced a significant Christmas marketing campaign which covers their leading range of PlayStation platforms and exclusive software titles.
Spearheaded by PlayStation 3, the campaign will showcase the 'world of entertainment' that only PlayStation can deliver to all entertainment seekers, with both hardware and software set to be promoted through an integrated campaign that includes TV, online, experiential, PR, plus a strong retail presence, all in the lead up to Christmas.
Sony NZ also confirmed that it will be offering one bonus game with every PS3 purchased during the holiday season. Consumers will have the choice between LittleBigPlanet, SingStar ABBA (with microphones), MotorStorm Pacific Rift and Resistance 2, as and when each new blockbuster title is released over the coming weeks. All games are exclusive to PS3 and valued at $119.95.

Evolution Studios lead designer Nigel Kershaw and creative director Paul Hollywood, responsible for the recent MotorStorm: Pacific Rift for the PlayStation 3, tell 1UP that the "infamous" E3 2005 trailer for the first MotorStorm "kind of pissed us off a lot." Why? Well, for one thing, it wasn't created by them and set the team up for "expectations about the rendering prowess that we were going to expose."
Oh yeah. And it was created before the dev team had received official hardware specifications from Sony. Being told that they were "the worst [of Sony's first-party developers] in the world" by former Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios head Phil Harrison probably didn't help.
