"Hideo Kojima has said on more than one occasion that Metal Gear Solid 4 would be the last game in the canon. Then again, he said the same thing about Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and we all know how that ended up. Without saying specifically that Kojima has changed his mind once again, Siliconera reports that Konami has registered the title Metal Gear Existence on the Japanese Trademark Database along with the image attached to this post.

The Kojima teaser site, which is rumored to be for the next Metal Gear Solid game which stars Raiden, has recently been updated to have lightning, a countdown, and a flashing 5. It has now been discovered that when the lightning flashes on the screen the date "April 2007" can clearly be seen at the bottom of the screen. Take a look in this screenshot.

This past March, MGS4 went to Sony's Platinum budget line in Europe. Now, it's following suit for Japan.

Hideo Kojima's swan song for Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, will be released on Sony Computer Entertainment "PLAYSTATION 3 the Best" line on June 18 for ¥3,990 (US$41).

MGS4 went on sale June 12, 2008. Even though it's one of the biggest selling PS3 titles in Japan, MGS4 still hasn't reached the million copies sold benchmark in The Land of the Rising Sun. By the end of last year, the game sold 4.5 million copies worldwide.

Blockbuster is offering up some good deals on video games in its stores. You may want to head out to your local Blockbuster to see prices on not only their previously rented (used) games, but their new (sealed) ones. Blockbuster's used games may be rough (no instructions, scuffed up discs, generic boxes), but there are some gems among the unopened/new games.

Some of their better deals are for Nintendo games that usually don't get a price break. Super Mario Galaxy is $24.99 new and Super Smash Bros. Brawl is $33.99 new. Mario Party 8 is $27.99 new.

For PLAYSTATION 3 gamers, you may want to check out Metal Gear Solid 4 for $37.99 new or Socom Confrontation with the Sony Bluetooth Headset for $44.99. BioShock was also spotted for $19.99 on the PLAYSTATION 3.

It beat out the runner-up, Final Fantasy VII, and the original Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VIII came in third and fourth respectively. Hideo Kojima and the rest of his staff certainly delivered one of the most professional and memorable plots in history; the amazing cast of characters coupled with the nicely paced and appropriately intricate storyline was indeed groundbreaking. This is the type of story many of us have been waiting for in the video game world, and we're most appreciative of the script, dialog and plot twists. The results of the MGS:TUS poll were all pretty even in the race with the only exception being the last option (new game, new universe). Regardless of all this talk Kojima has dealt out about focusing on all-new characters, a majority asked for a sequel involving either Solid Snake or Big Boss. Almost tied with these two options was a crowd of users requesting new characters, or no sequel. Sufficient to say, the fandom is a little split in this one.

Famitsu has revealed the next expansion pack for MGO, expected for a March release. Dubbed "Scene," this expansion includes three new maps (Outer Outlet, Ravaged Riverfront, Hazard House) and two new characters (Vamp and Raiden).
