A multiplayer beta for Sony's 256-player online shooter, MAG: Massive Action Game, is currently under way, but you're not invited.
caliblue15 from www.blueraycenter.com has found a new Sony member that is part of the M.A.G. Beta. Pictures are after the link. caliblue15 has blacked out most of the name as to not give away information that shouldn't be but left enough that shows its a Playstation employee.
Nick McCandless from TheGamerAccess.com just signed onto the PlayStation Network planning to hop onto Killzone 2, when he noticed something very interesting while viewing his friends list. One of the users on his friends list was playing the MAG Beta.
PS3-Sense Writes: "Today we received a screenshot of a employee of Sony that is playing the MAG Beta. This means that the Beta of MAG is about to start. This is sooner then we all thought."
M.A.G. needs to be in that line-up because that game offers something that Microsoft doesn't this year and also Microsoft doesn't have a game that massive that can compete with this major exclusive and, delaying it will hurt Sony this year.
Kotaku writes: "The thinning Fall 2009 release list looks like it's getting one release thinner today, as online retailers are pointing to a delay for MAG, Zipper Interactive's massive action game for the PlayStation 3, which is now aiming for January 2010".
PlayStation LifeStyle writes: "Shijima, the Franchise Producer for MAG, previously stated that MAG's beta would only be available to Europeans. But thanks to some clarification from an SCEA representative, non-European PS3 owners have reason to be relieved."
In an official US PlayStation blog update, Zipper Interactive's PR manager Jill Webber has posted an entry which details the three private military contractors that players will be able use in the upcoming PlayStation 3 shooter, MAG.

PlayStation LifeStyle writes, "In just over a week, PlayStation LifeStyle will be reporting live from the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). We've been trying to get a handle on the plethora of PlayStation games that will be on display from June 2 through June 4, and it's quite astounding. If you weren't excited about the prospect of new announcements for the PlayStation brand, what if we told you there will be over 75 unique PlayStation games on display - that we know about?! While many are multiplatform titles (though the best still appear to be Sony-exclusive), it is a large increase from last year's showing."
GamingFront.net writes "PSM3 Magazine (Based in the UK) seems to be getting alot of new details in. First with the new Modern Warfare 2 Details 2 days ago, and now we have some new MAG (Massive Action Game) Details. The details were published in PSM3's latest magazine."..
