The multiplayer demo for Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is temporarily being removed from the PlayStation Network in order to address issues that have come to light. We will be working overtime to correct the issue and expect to upload a new version to the PlayStation Network as soon as possible that accurately reflects the incredible online features of the game. For those of you who have already downloaded the demo, the servers are being taken down until the new version is ready to go. Shacknews is reporting the PlayStation 3 version of the once-Xbox 360 exclusive Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will be in stores February 26. Publisher Capcom, which developed the game internally, provided the date along with several new screenshots.

The PS3 edition contains all of the downloadable multiplayer maps released for the other versions, along with exclusive multiplayer characters, including Dead Rising (X360) protagonist Frank West and the ever-iconic Mega Man.

Capcom's big PS3 surprise was a port of the former Xbox 360 exclusive, Lost Planet.

Disappointed PS3 fans expecting more were dismayed by the idea of yet another port, and threw a collective tantrum on the internet. Well, at least Capcom's making a smart move by pricing next year's port at a discount price.

If Capcom's official store is to be believed, the game will launch for only $40 -- that's $20 less than the standard retail price for games.
