It has been confirmed that SplitFish's wireless PlayStation 3 controller designed specifically for use with first-person shooters (FPS), the Dual SFX Frag Pro, will ship to retailers in time for Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release. SplitFish first revealed this latest addition to its line of controllers for the PlayStation 3 to rave reviews at E3 and Gamescon 2009, as part of SplitFish's brand-new Frevolution X System to be available worldwide in fall 2009. The PlayStation Network is a beast when it comes to online communities. Sony boss Kaz Hirai said today that there are some 29 million PSN accounts with some 600 million pieces of content downloaded.

Again showing off the effectiveness of the network, Hirai said that Media Molecule's hit LittleBigPlanet now has some 2 million user-generated stages. In case you are wondering, you'd have to spend about six hours a day for nearly 30 years to play every level.

GamersDigest can confirm that the LittleBigPlanet demo is now available to download on the Japanese PSN store.

The demo comes in at 917MB, and features a small selection of levels from the game and community database, along with a few level creation tools to test out.

The flyer, entitled 'Craft World' is wordy, with far less art than you'd expect from the creative bods at the studio - and the central character is a poor relation to the sackboy we all know and love. PushSquare; a snippet from the article: "Discussing the possibility of improved user profiles, an LBP staffer confirmed that such an update was "imminent" and a part of the latest "Leerdammer" update. Apparently the functionality is "cooler than anything" the user base have asked for, so hopefully we'll get some really mental, detailed profiles.

In addition to that, the team discussed the length of time it takes to create a Media Molecule level and clarified that there is a full 10 weeks involved in getting an "official" level finished. However, despite the long level building process, the team did conclude that new levels are on the way along with a music-only pack. Impact seals PlayStation deal (News)

Well, that took long enough! Toy News Online is reporting that Impact International has secured the rights to produce plush Sackboy figures -- and a whole mess of other goodies -- for Sony. The UK, Ireland and the Middle East will be getting "plush items, bean toys, mugs, bobbleheads and bags" based on the iconic figure from LittleBigPlanet.

Additionally, Brazier and Co. are on board to make "PVC figurines," and even a "limited edition-themed version of Sackboy" -- whatever that could mean (other than a higher price tag). The various Sackboy-themed items will be hitting stores this October. Various other Sony IP (God of War, InFamous, MotorStorm, WipeOut, Killzone and Resistance) will be getting the poster treatment by way of GB Eye Limited, though no date has been set for the release of those.

When LittleBigPlanet PSP was first announced, we instinctively guessed there would be connectivity with the PS3 game. Looks like we were right. Players that own the original game will be able to unlock bonus content through a feature Sony is calling "Cross-Talk." No details on what the bonuses will entail, but we wouldn't be surprised if owners of both are treated to some exclusive costumes.

vg247 says: "LittleBigPlanet creation aspects are to be expanded in upcoming DLC, Media Molecule co-founder Mark Healy has told VG247.

"A lot of our DLC so far has been based around expanding our palletes, if you like; more costumes, more stickers, and things like this," said the developer.

"A big part of what's coming in the future expands on what's possible in LittleBigPlanet in terms of it being a creation tool."

When asked specifically if he was talking about the game's feature set, Healy responded:

"Yeah. There's going to be lots of exciting things that make it into more of a versatile creation tool."

SackBoy, CEO of LittleBigPlanet, has brought great news to the official US PlayStation Blog - LittleBigPlanet has reached one million community creations. That's 1,000,000 individual levels available to play for free. Quite the feat!

Gamezine: It looks as though the loveable Sackboy has been stolen for a Brazilian cartoon.

A new cartoon for a Brazilian children's show on SBT (a Brazilian television network) features characters that have an uncanny resemblance to LittleBigPlanet's Sackboy.

The opening to the cartoon can be found below thanks to XmurielnanetX and the resemblance hasn't gone unnoticed. One YouTube user comments: "LittleBigPlanet: Edição Especial Para Pobres," which translates to "LittleBigPlanet: Special Edition for Poor."

LittleBigPlanet has received continous patches since its launch, and normally the larger ones have contained some important new stuff like the Metal Gear Solid content, as well as having cute little codenames like Appledore and Ricotta. Not this one – today's unannounced update, 1.16, weighs in at 80MB and thus almost certainly contains future (and currently secret) DLC. For reference, the MGS content was roughly 65MB.

Naturally, nobody seems to know what's in the patch, but we eagerly await any information anyone might be able to dig up.

Next week you will be able to dress Sackboy in a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man outfit or give him a Slimer hat. A bunch of downloadable Ghostbusters costumes are coming to LittleBigPlanet on July 16.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan flaunted four Ghostbusters items: a Slimer costume, Ghostbusters costume, No Ghosts costume, and a "marshmallow man" costume. Each item costs 200 yen ($2.15) or you can buy a pack with all of the items for 600 yen ($6.50).

Last week we got official confirmation that the world of Team Ico would be invading LittleBigPlanet with a release of a content pack featuring costumes and other items inspired by Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. It was unknown if we would all be in for a treat and receive an amazing map pack to go with these items but sadly it was announced over the weekend that the pack would only include costumes, stickers and sound effects.

Today we have our first look at the three costumes that will represent Shadow of the Colossus with one obviously being for the Wanderer while the other two are Colossi.
