It looks like October 9th is shaping up to be a great week for the PSN. This week we are getting the HUGELY anticipated LingerInShadows. We also will be getting the game with the coolest name… Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars, which will be releasing with in-game music, and trophy support. Megaman 9 fans will be pleased to know that the Protoman DLC will be out this week. Also don't forget to download the Valkyria Chronicles Demo.

We expect to see some new trailers from many of the newly announced PS3, and PSP games from this year's Tokyo Game Show!

Last week we were pleasantly surprised by the addition of Eternal Sonata Demo, so this week we have our fingers crossed for some other great surprises popping up in the PS Store.

Hi all, my name is Rusty Buchert and I am the Sr. Producer for Linger in Shadows. Some of you may have heard about it already from coverage here and there, but there are a lot of questions surrounding this unique title. It will be releasing on the PlayStation Network on October 9, so I wanted to explain today about what Linger is and what it isn't. I'll start with the easier side, and that is Linger in Shadows is NOT a game. It was never meant to be a game and it will never be a game. Yes it has trophies, but it still isn't a game and I'll explain why a little later on.

So then, what the heck is it? There are a few different answers to that question and I'm going to try and cover them here. So here is the short version and then I'll ramble on in more detail. Linger in Shadows was created by Plastic, from the demoscene. It is an experiment with the demoscene and it is an experiment in Interactive Digital Art.

Siliconera reports: "Defined as an "interactive experience", Linger in Shadows isn't exactly a game. It sure is pretty to look at though. The looping video clip can be controlled and players get to alter time by tilting the Sixaxis controller. Once you find five sigils the story continues. A price for the project has not been announced, but now we know Linger in Shadows is scheduled to come out on August 28 in Europe. That's the same day the Last Guy makes a worldwide debut for $10 in North America and 2,000 yen ($18) in Japan."

"Presented as a "simple demo" during a German trade fair a few months ago, Linger In Shadows is finally a title exclusive to the PS3. This is not a game or a movie ... it is something else. Scheduled for August 28, here are the official information:"

PS3 Fanboy reports:

''Linger in Shadows is quite mysterious. We know that it's going to be a rather experimental release on the PSN -- a daring piece of "interactive art," according to PSN producer Rusty Buchart. But, what the experience be like? We're still unsure, but the ESRB has just rated the title -- and has claimed it A-OK for Everyone.''
A mysterious mystery shrouded in an enigma, wrapped in black bubble wrap. We have no idea what this game is, or even if it's really a game. Maybe it's a movie. Or a puzzle. Or... a tech demo?

There's an ongoing debate about whether or not games are art, but Linger In Shadows is a clear case of the art being a game. Based upon the concept of the demoscene and filled with bizarre, dream-like imagery, Linger In isn't a game. It's not a tech demo. It's not a 3D movie, a tech demo, or a puzzle. It's something in between all three, which our demoer called "real-time interactive art." It's also captivating.

Linger In ...

"News has just hit the internet about a "in-game" demo that is "amazing" running on the PS3. This game seems to be the game that had a BBC reporter blown away.

4Sceners has uploaded an image gallery of screen caps of the video they were shown.

Not much is known yet about LingerInShadows. Hit the jump for a scoop you will ONLY read at Sev1512¿

As many of you know Sev1512 has some friends on the inside¿

Earlier this month I noticed a dev, on my friends list playing a game that I didn't recognize. This game was LingerInShadows¿ I know its a game, because it had a PS controller/game icon, next to the title. I asked this dev what the game was, but never got a response.

So you heard it here first. LingerInShadows is not just a technical demo. Its a game, and I am being as bold as to say its the game that had a BBC reporter "speechless""
