UK TV program Gamer.tv has given Lair 3/5. The episode aired at 10:00am Saturday morning and I personally watched it myself so can confirm the score is correct. They didn't seem to have any issues with the controls but said it was a bit repetitive.

Gamefly has also changed it's release date, but they're showing September 6th (most likely to account for getting enough copies in to rent to customers). Screenshots taken in case they change it back (EB Games above, Gamefly after the jump).
According to an un-named source, two reputable gaming magazines/websites have reviewed Lair and have each given it 9 out of 10. EDGE magazine is one of the these sites which reviewed Lair and gave it a score of 9 out of 10.
