After shipping last fall's blockbusting Halo 3, revered developer Bungie stunned the world by announcing plans to liberate itself from Microsoft's ownership. Allegedly, that path to freedom requires that they develop a few more titles for Microsoft, and 1UP has heard rumblings that the first one will be a Halo spin-off due in late 2009. 1UP's spies tell to expect a third-person action/adventure shooter hybrid that takes place before the original Halo, chronicling early skirmishes between the ODST troops and the Covenant. This may or may not be the oft-mentioned "Peter Jackson Halo Project" -- though apparently Microsoft is hiring a seperate team for that -- but WETA is definitely involved in some capacity. New information regarding Rockstar's L.A Noire has emerged, hinting that the PS3-exclusive title could come to the Xbox 360 after all. Surfer Girl says that The Godfather II will feature a deep online component somewhat akin to Grand Theft Auto IV. According to her, up until sometime last year, Mass Media was working on ports of Saint's Row and The Outfit, for Wii and PSP, respectively. She states that L.A. Noire is not being funded by Sony, who dropped the title and there is nothing stopping a 360 release.

Team Bondi's new game L.A. Noire is a 1940's detective thriller, published by Rockstar Games. When GTA IV was delayed, LA Noire was also moved back to 2009 and was listed only for Playstation 3. However, a job listing over at Gamasutra reveals that L.A. Noire might not only be a Playstation 3 game, but also a Xbox 360 game.

Team Bondi's Playstation 3 detective thriller L.A. Noire has been "moved out" of Take-Two's fiscal year 2008 release schedule, announced today during the company's financial conference call. L.A. Noire, which will fall under the Rockstar Games banner and touts former Team Soho developers-of The Getaway fame-, was first announced in the summer of 2005 for a release on the PS3, part of an agreement to develop multiple Sony-exclusive titles. Little has been shown of the game outside of a pair of trailers and it doesn't look like we'll see much more of it any time soon.
