VG247: Killzone 2's sales figures were one of the shock stories of last night's NPD release, the game being outsold in the US last month by the likes of Halo Wars and MLB '09: The Show.
Sony is quite pleased with the game's success and believes it will drive further hardware adoption. SCEA also said it's seeing internal sales momentum for PS2 since the price cut.

According to Co-founder and Managing Director of Guerrilla Games Hermen Hulst, Killzone 2 will not be receiving co-op as downloadable content.

The website that originally reported on the upcoming Killzone 2 map pack being a free download, has corrected its story. The news item now says Sony Computer Entertainment contacted Tweakers.net, stating the DLC will in fact NOT be free, but will cost a still unknown amount of money. This one IS confirmed by Sony, so alas, no free dlc for Killzone 2.
Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that first person shooter Killzone 2 new multiplayer game fields receive. The expansion in the Netherlands made PlayStation 3 game from April 30th for free download.
"We are also working on a new patch to enable the DLC as well as synching up with the Japanese release of Killzone 2 on the 23rd of April. There is a long list of fixes and some new functionality and I will be letting you know more about it next week."
Sony has confirmed the releasedate of the Killzone 2 dlc through a pressrelease. It will be on thursday april 30th a price has not yet been confirmed.
ALT+F4 reports. "The KZ2 DLC has been revealed tonight and it's a map pack entitled Steel & Titanium. There will be two new maps in the pack"
According to the post made in the Playstation Blog and in particular the reply given by Jeff Rubenstein to the comment #35 clearly gives us some clues that the DLC is something engineer class related.

apparently a killzone 2 patch has been released only for asia weighting around 216mb , still no word from guerilla on what the patch does, but people who downloaded it can only join games from asia

Killzone 2 devs Hermen Hulst and Arjan Brussee comment on the ease of PS3's development compared to the PS2, and how the overall structure of development is much simpler than Xbox 360 and PC.
