We asked developer Guerrilla Games producer Sebastian Downie to compile a list of things "Killzone 2? gamers "must do" while playing their game - here's what he said.

Killzone 2 launches across South Africa today, not that you needed reminding.

Killzone 2 is the highly anticipated PS3 exclusive first-person shooter by Guerrilla Games. Take it from El33tonline, this is one game that you don't want to miss. El33tonline thought it was "a beautiful, excellently executed first-person shooter, full of satisfying gunfights, explosions and swearing – basically the gaming world's equivalent of a blockbuster action movie."

Expectations are high and based on a few Gamestop sources, most of their stores are getting KILLZONED with callers asking about midnight launch locations. Well, at least in the Valley of The Sun. Stuff like smoke is ok, it has little detail in it so you can get away with lower res for that and let them linger around. Same with stuff like kicked up dirt, etc. It's in stuff that needs details where the low res shows badly, like on explosions, but they flash those real quick in KZ2 so it's hard to see that they are low res.

Killzone 2, the critically well-received and universally hyped Sony exclusive, is apparently not faring quite that well at local retailers. A "Game Store" manager that prefers to remain anonymous suggested that nearly half of all of the Killzone 2 copies purchased at this particular store have been returned within two days, the highest of any game sold so far this year. Simply looking at the preowned section at my local GameStop tells a similar story, with 26 copies waiting to be resold.

It's not all grim news, however...

"UPDATE: To all of those wondering, the game store I've mentioned did, in fact, break the street date and started selling the game on Tuesday. I erroneously typed "weeks" instead of "days", and that was my fault. I called the manager I spoke to before and asked more about why people were returning the games, and supposedly a few people said "it didn't work". Perhaps Sony put some countermeasures in place because the game shouldn't be out yet?

And yes, I did see preowned games, not just the empty boxes for preorders. GameStop has a nasty habit of how they treat their customers once a game has been opened. Perhaps there's a whole other story here."

Killzone 2 features eight well balanced multiplayer maps that take place in different settings around Helghan. Each map has a specific character and requires different tactics in order to be victorious. On the website, there's short tutorials that will introduce the different maps.
