Are you kidding me, a 7? On metacritic the highest score is, well, a perfect score. From the same dudes that gave mk vs. dc a perfect score. That doesn't tell me that some critics like to score things way too high at all.

And to everyone saying that its unprofessional to say that we should save our money and wait for prototype: A) I dont think he said that in those exact words. and B) I think thats kind of the FUCKING POINT OF A CRITIC.

as you can see from my name im a sony fanboy (only my f**king ps3 is broken!!!) and i think you guys just take more into consideration than other reviewers. i just think anything trying to be a "superhero" game is asking for trouble because that area is kinda lame no matter how dark or different it is (not a comic book fan obviously).

and i just wanna add that even tho i am a total ps3 fanboy and think mgs4 is the greatest game made by anyone, i didnt like killzone that much (definatly not a 9 like GR gave it). the story is meh, the only likeable characters (garza) *SPOILER ALERT* get killed (rico you stupid bastard!!!), and i finished the single player in about 5 1/2 hours. plus its multiplayer cant even compete with cod4.

id like to try this game but i probably will just rent it

Im not going to say that some reviews are biased when in comes to PS3 ( i'm still not quite sure how MGS4 got a 9 and GTA4 got a 10), but I'm also pretty sure that a review is just that, its a review and its someone's educated opinion about a certain game. I've read more than once on this site that just because a game got a 7 or even a 6 does not make it bad so I really don't think anyone should go after Mikel for giving this game a 7. I played the Demo and i thought it was pretty good, i was actually debating whether i should buy it or not and after the demo, I'm gonna buy it so you should never buy a game based on just one review, and i really don't see how this a bad review, it just clearly states that there is room for improvement in this game (and before people start going crazy, no, I'm not an Xbox fan or anything like that, I have always been exclusively Sony but I've never been a freakin fanboy, thats just pathetic)

If I did that, I'd be giving a game a score I didn't think it deserved just so people wouldn't be mean to me on the internet. And that would make me a pretty piss-poor critic.

Yeah, Haze probably should have gotten a lower score than it did. But again, that's someone else's opinion.

good review mike, most sites gave the game a 9 and 9+ which is a bit over and a 7 is a tad low i would give it an 8, finished the game as a hero now working on finishing it as infamous, story is fun but as u mentioned climbing in glitchy which makes exploration boring especially when compared to assassins creed engine

My main gripe with this review is that you only talk about it's flaws and you don't even mention the great visuals and the incredible sound most other reviewers talked about.
I find it funny how many people comment here to try to defend Mikel's opinion but they forget that this is supposed to be a review, not an opinion. A professional game reviewer should know the difference.

I think it should get an 8 at least, the story, graphics and general gameplay is great. Still, I don't mind too much, I'm still gonna get it. And the uncharted 2 beta code that comes with it doesn't hurt.

Why not just take comments off these reviews. It wouldn't be as fun (I admit) to see the fan boys call Mikel an asshole (who I believe takes wayyyy to much shit from these "true gamers"), but at the same time it would keep my brain from hurting.

With all due respect to Mike for his opinion (and it is just that as most of what he wrote was based on how you felt about one aspect or another, not much content in terms of backing up what he said with solid references) on Infamous, I think there is no dodging how unproffessional it is to compare two games with limited exposure to one of them. A bite of a Snickers bar will probably taste better than your first bite of a filet Mignon, but that does not mean it is a better meal. It also puts into question this site, who ever reviews Prototype will either have to back this reviewers opinion or completely contradict and loose credibility for the site. Guess what a fansite like this will likely do? BTW, the 7 score from this site literally lowered Infamous overall Metacritic score of 87 to 87. This means this site is weighted so low by an independant compilation site that even they consider this site irrelavant. Look forward to your unbiased Prototype review...Infamous is out next week, I expect you will get hammered even harder when people actual get a chance to play the game.

Hey I'm about to play the demo, but before i did I read this and some of the comments (a.k.a most 1-7, part of pg. 9), and I have to say first and foremost Mikel Reparaz I have sympathy for you. I mean come on I game like its my life, well this, sports, and programming, but to hate someone for a review is just wrong IMO.

aside from that I'll have to really play the game to see my opinion but I have trust in's Mike's review so I'm gonna say somewhere from 7 to 8 IMO right now.
