As someone who has played the demo of Infamous and played the demo area of Prototype (Gamestop event) I believe Infamous will be a superior, deeper title than Prototype. Prototype is one of those brainless games where you can mash on buttons and not really know what is going on or how to execute moves and still own the game. I played it for 10 minutes never died, never felt challenged. I can see Prototype as a game that is fun to play for an hour then being completely repetitive.

The climbing mechanic in Infamous is really cool, ripping that aspect of the game seems strange. I was really impressed with this aspect of the game and think it is more fun than the pendulum of Web of Shadows or the slow tedius climbing in Assassin Creed.

It is funny that you put it in big bold letters that you are comparing Prototype and then say, well I played if for a little bit so it would be unprofessional to make the comparison. If GR is going to make the comparison, then have some balls and do a full review. Also giving Infamous the same score as Bionic Commando...Really?

Calling out Metacritic was a nice touch, if you go there sites more credible than GR are essentially scoring the game to the 80 – 100 range. The only other site that gave it a 70 is owned by Microsoft.

@MikelReparaz - Hold your ground sir! Stand by the decision! Also, could you tell me why the Gamesradar staff doesn't review most of the games anymore. . .? I don't trust those UK fools.

These fanboy rants are not compelling. I give them a 7 out of 10.

What more do you expect from a site that reviews other games in one paragraph. I normally dont put much stock in Gamesradar reviews anyway, and this is pretty much the reason why.

If Prototype gets a better score than this I'll be kinda mad cuz in all honesty it's gemplay looks like crap

How does it look like crap? You can shapeshift for christs sake.

I genuinely feel sad for anyone who thinks this game will be better than protoype, prototype has been in development longer, and this game was everything i predicted just from the trailer trash trailer of it. Waste of time

It's just a Review. IF you like the game so much, then go buy it and shut the phuck up.

WHAT THE DEUCE!!! I'm not usually one to complain but i have played the demo and read loads of other reviews an i would rate it similar to all the rest of the sane people in the world 9/10 or higher.

I don't know what 360 fanboys are on about. You get prototype, ps3 owners get prototype AND infamous. Do the math

@Mikel
So Haze and inFAMOUS both scored the same on this site.Just for arguements sake if you have played Haze do you put it on a par with inFAMOUS.Or looking at them both having the same score sits comfortable with you.Because i think haze having a 7 is very wrong.Im not saying 7 for inFamous is wrong ,just wondering how you see both games

I respect your opinion but i'm slightly let down by this review, many of the bad things you've said against it - i find - to be a little harsh. And i know it's all about opinions but saying you've seen it before in AC and spiderman games etc...is like saying you don't like pro evo because there's fifa. It seems to dismiss the fact that infamous does what it does very well. I still enjoyed the read and respect the score, although i think it's a bit of a harsh review...but, i'm glad to see a different critical opinion from the norm of "ZOMG ITZ AWSUM"

But, i enjoyed the demo, and personally love the controls! I'll definately be picking this up (especially as my pre-order includes uncharted 2 beta)

Im still gettin it. I would have like to have seen it get an 8 or up though

Awww, how cute. Look at the little babies calling me a fanboy. I had a problem with the review and I called your reviewer out for it.

It's pretty clear he didn't play the damn game properly.

And yes I haven't played infamous yet but I have played the demo and I would say this game deserves at least an 8 or a 9. I chose to disagree with this 7 because this guy is a biased asshole.

Don't compare a full game to a game where we don't know if it'll be a flop or a hit.

I do plan on getting Proptotype along with Infamous if it's a solid game and holds my interest but I would not compare the two period.

You people like to throw around the term fanboys when you yourselves are fucking fanboys for supporting this biased piece of shit review.

First things first - good review, Kudos.
Now, stop bashing the reviewer. he's just calling it like it is. having spent the last few days watching vids and comparing the two games (inFamous and Prototype) i have to say the former definitely looks like the weaker cousin. i was intrigued at first but it looks to get repetative and bland like Crackdown, Just Cause etc. if there's not enough variety in a sandbox game then it'll fail. Prototype has more powers and a wider variety of them plus the ability to approach missions how you like. I've spent enough time jumping around Crackdown's city and liberating towns in JC to know i dont want to do it all over again. plus all these powers stemming from electricity (gliding?) doesnt do it for me. both games, tho unique in their own way were always going to be compared, and rightly so. they're out at the same time, they both involve a superhero/villain in sandbox cities with upgradable powers and a story to unravel.
For all the haters - until YOU have played both you can't know how they compare, tho even then some will still argue the futile point 'cos of the platform exclusive balls (i didnt know Sony made contact lenses). I'm amused by the "GR hates the PS3" comments. I'm sure they dont, they - just like everyone else - probably think there's still not been a killer app' released. The only reason i'm keeping my PS3 is 'cos of the new Team Ico game. most of the best games are multi platform anyway so i tend to get them on the 360 simply because i find it a better games machine - that and i know a LOT more people with an xbox than a PS3.

Nice Review.
I played the demo and I feel the negative points are valid but its still a quality game, I'm just gonna get prototype instead, just because killing peoples with a big knife that comes out your arm sounds more fun...

Waffles!

Coming off the demo, I would have given it an 8. You claim the fact that its hard to get from place to place without a car is a negative. Personally, I preferred the climbing, gliding and grinding system. Allowed me to be more inventive.

But Kudos to you GR. I don't agree with Mike's score, and think he may have been over critical of certain areas without focusing on the positives. But oh well.

But giving this game the same score as Haze and Godfather 2 is a bit harsh. You may say this game is worth buying, but the seven does not back that up, as you know as well as anyone that a seven does not make a game sound worth a buy. I don't agree with the way reviews work now, with 7 being the midpoint, but thats how it is and you know it.

Ok, semi-rant over.
