Honestly, there's nothing wrong with the review. I don't own a PS3 or 360, so my non-biased opinion is that Mikel is expressing his opinion and reviewed it based on his take of the game.
There is no universal law that says, "you have to play a game this way to enjoy it." There is no standard that says you have to enjoy a game that many others enjoy.
He reported the facts and gave us an insight into the game. If you don't agree with what he said or the review score, it's not the end of the world. It's a game people, note the score and move on, go back to humping your PS3s or whatever you crazy people do. If you are one of those diehards, how is the score or his review going to affect YOUR will to play it? Are you going to nerdrage/quit just because one journalist pointed stuff out you didn't like?
"Hi my name is Rabid PS3 Fanboy. I think this review is completely retarded and the reviewer was obviously bribed by Microsoft, as a goodly game of this caliber cannot receive anything less than a perfect 10/10.
It's unfair to compare infamous to a game that you only played for 3 hours. I have played the GODDAMN DEMO which is only 30 MINUTES LONG and can tell this game is better than Prototype and obviously deserves a 10."
There, that sums up what a lot of you have been saying. Take a good look at your idiotic, contradicting statement and go kill yourself, numbnuts.
Without differing opinions all reviews of videogames have no meaning. Why do people think Microsoft is bribing people reviewer journalists with money? Thank you Reparaz for having balls for fighting off the tyrannical trolls, and I hope many others do the same for other games down the road.
In my opinion 7/10 is a generous score for this frustrating pile of turd.
Every enemy is an expert marksman, capable of hitting you right in the medulla from 2 miles away, by time you spot them its bang! Your dead! An endless barrage of bullets
Combat is awful too, you end up climbing and jumping around like some sort of uncontrollable, hairless, great white ape.
Hand to hand combat? The enemies aren't even dumb enough to try that out in this game! Its the equivalent of shoving stick of dynamite up your ass!
The only consistently good power is the lightning bolt, all the others are just fancy fireworks which you don’t need to use.
All this game has achieved is proving that guns beat superpowers.
I know im a little late with a comment but here it goes anyway.
Has anybody mentioned the fact thats it's kinda glitchy? I've fallen threw the world twice already and im only 60% threw my first play, but the thing that frustrates me the most is the fact that you auto stick to 85% of the climbable surfaces but your hung out to dry for about 15% that being said I love the game and will be playing the evil side for sure. 8/10 from this geek.
boo hoo, poor bitches can't handle a 7/10 thats a C, thats average! Deal with it, shut up, and get out of your basement for once in twenty years! And learn to spell!
ha how did I know the score would be below an 8 for sure... and @grant, wtf are you doing on a game site if you're not into games and you're bitching about people in basements. Someone could prob say the same to you for even spending an hour a day playing games.
Spiderman is a great game (I could web sling all day), Crackdown is great if all you do is level your guy up and just GTA around town while ignoring the short crappy story, and Prototype, well we can only take the reviewers word for it but I think I would rather control lightning than the shit I saw in a gameplay video of Prototype. Needless to say, only one person reviewing a certain type of game is very biased in the fact that not all people even dig the Mona Lisa, let alone a single video game. I must say the reviewer does take some cheap shots that weren't necessary, that's just unfortunate that he isn't having nearly as much fun as me in playing the enjoyable game that is Infamous. Good day.
I think this comment page has all the workings of the 5th circle of hell for Wikiparez. If he ends up in hell he'll spend an eternity having his reviews called into question by hard-headed and very closed-minded individuals who don't get paid to review games, but feel they are far more qualified than he. Dante would be proud Mikel.
ive played through infamous and i seriously dont understand this score. its all about opinions i guess but come on! the controls are so tight, the powers are like nothing ive ever seen and there can be like 50 shooting enemies on the screen without the frame rate dropping even a little. the world is fun to explore especially with the battery cores and dead drops to collect. this game is the full package man!
honestly you all should be happy that they even review the games that you fight over, now i do agree with some of the argument but it doesnt give us the right to say its bias. and yes this game could of been better considering the sly cooper games were spot on.
Well, despite the score, I bought the game and all I can say is wow!!!! I've played it 4 days straight and completed it twice (good and evil), and its just amazing. Yes, the auto stick climbing thing isn't great, but a quick jab at X will sort it 9 times out of 10. Another point is that, for game titled 'inFamous' I would have expected being evil to be the better choice when infact, I vastly prefer being heroic. Apart from the game is just brilliance. The plot is good and didn't feel it 'plodded' at all, the action is always great and the skills you unlock are unbelievable- theres nothing like sniping a guys head, while gliding through the air, or destroying a entire street with a thunder storm- and there is a brilliant twist at the end. Defenatly worth at least 2 play throughs as the story changes slightly, and even when your done the blast shards and dead drops are fun to hunt for. If you own a PS3, do yourself a favour and buy possibly the best game out at the moment, a 9 out of 10 from me, and my friends who have it too.
Everyone who compares GR to other sites, or gets pissed off by one guys OPINION needs to get a life. I've played the game. I agree 110% with his review. All of you people are morons for thinking anything else.
Damn. I really gotta say that I am disapointed in this review, I really don't think this game deserves a 7 score, it's better than that for sure, it has alot more than most games have to offer and it's only a 1 player affair. It's alright it doesn't mean I hate GR or Mike, but I really don't think I will be putting much stock into this sites' reviews for games considering when one looks at metacritic, the most well known place to get a games score you see that not only did Infamous receive a 85 out of 100 from 62 different professional reveiws, but I immediately noticed that GamesRadar was among the very bottom 11% of those who reveiewed the game. This bottom 11% of the reviewers scored the game at less than a score of 80. However, I also noticed that 47%, that's almost HALF of the reveiwers (again, these are all different, professional reveiws) scored this game at 90 that's Nine Zero kids or HIGHER. This difference is huge and I for one have not let it slip past me un-noticed.
I do own this game and it is in my oppinion much better than a 7, for me I would say a 9 which is not swaying my opinion of this sites' reveiwers, its simply that they are so far off on this reveiw in particular that their score falls outside the standard deviation, which suggests to me at least, that this review, or reslut should be thrown out and not used or considered reliable.
That being said, I will still enjoy the many funny articles they do and use this site because I enjoy most of it, I will just no longer pay any attention to what numeric score they give any game.
Oh and @ jimdog, that was hilarious lol.
But Mike, jimdog does bring up a good point, you should have to take off that microsoft money hat and eat it! That's why you dumped on imfamous I get it, you didnt want to eat your hat, it's cool though I'll get over it.
