Nice review Mikel, and kudos to sticking to your opinions

Just a small thing. To everyone who keeps whining about Haze and other mediocre games getting the same score of this: You have the benefit of hindsight.

AT THE TIME, those games may have deserved those scores when compared with other games of that time. Looking back at them now they probably deserve lower. So comparing a new game with games that were released last year or more doesn't really help out at all. Just saying =)

ReCaptcha: Valving 4 1/4 (ReCaptcha predicts the future. Valve will make Half-Life 4 and will only release 1/4 of the intended episodic content)

*sigh* Ok, since reading the first page of comments was depressing enough, here: It was a well-thought and thorough review, Mike. I appreciate the facts you addressed, as well as the parallels you drew to similar games, past and future, that I feel have been well-drawn to illustrate the points you're trying to convey about your opinion here. I'm confident that this review confirms my desire to play this game, though I hope I get a little more enjoyment than you seem to have gotten out of it. Been looking forward to this game for a while, and I'm really hoping that even given the shortcomings you've addressed, it will still be the experience I want it to be. All in all, great review.

Let me get this straight: a game gets a 7, a rating that means "good, but flawed," is immediately considered biased because it's a PS3 exclusive, or because it doesn't agree with the majority of other reviews? How many people have had the chance to complete inFamous anyway?

Mike,

I may disagree with your assessment, but it is YOUR assessment. You are quite entitled to your opinion and I have always enjoyed reading the reviews on DR.

To those who are pitching fits about this review: Grow up. Its a review. Its someone's opinion. For pete's sake, its not worth the fight. Just buy both inFamous and Prototype and be done with it!!

*Awesomeitude shuffles into the article, looks around at all the horrible flame and anger, decides to keep his mouth shut, turns around, and walks out of the article and back to GTA 4 and Uncharted.*

im surprised. this game looked pretty fun and cool, but i guess it doesn't really matter to me since i dont have a ps3
Chase158  - 6 months 10 days ago
I find it quite ironic that there are now four "70" reviews on Metacritic - one of which is from PS3bloggen.se.
Clearly an Xbox fanboy plot to sabotage our great console...

Also, what's with the amount of people saying "I disagree with your score, I've played the demo and I'd give it 9"?
How can you criticise Mike for comparing InFamous with his short play of Prototype when you're basing your entire score off a DEMO?

Mikel RapperRaz is a genius, he should not given a ? mark as the score, oh that would certainly turn head.

Make you sooooo creditable.

:D

@Chase- My fanboy siren went off, and you're to blame.

Go back to NeoGaf, troll.

So after playing this game all day I came back to tell Mike what a horrible review this is. I cannot fathom why he would give this game a 7 and not higher. I think gamesradar should have a policy that no reviewer can be on their period while reviewing a game, as was clearly the case here. Horrible, horrible job Mike.

@GoldenMe - Wait, what?
You do realise that the part about "Xbox fanboy plot to sabotage a great console" was sarcasm, yes?
One of the site's was called "PS3bloggen.se", for Christ's sake.

I got the game this afternoon, plan to start playing shortly. It still seems strange that there's so much disparity between Mikel's and all the other scores, but I'll soon see if I agree.

Hank34 – Seriously!? You have come back to once again moan that this review doesn’t represent your opinion?! Dear god I feel sorry for your friends and family having to put up with you. You have many lessons to learn in this world and how it works if a review of video game gives a game 1 or so points less than you think it deserves and you get bent out of shape about it.
One thing is for sure though, from your comments I would rate this reviewers opinion higher than yours, that’s for damn sure.

what are you going ot do sebastian,
go to your mummy and say a stranger raped you through his keyboard?
man92  - 6 months 9 days ago
i no longer have a ps3, but still this deserved at least an eight (according to the demo i played)
Chase158  - 6 months 9 days ago
Stop claiming it deserves a higher score purely from what you've played in the demo.
