Sony discounts Hot Shots Golf PS3 to $29.99 (News)

Sony Corp.'s retail division SonyStyle.com this week price cut the game title Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds to under $30 in a new sale.
On Wed., Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds held a price of $29.99, down from the original $59.99 MSRP.

Out of Bounds, released in Mar. 2008, is the latest console entry in the popular golf franchise.

Meanwhile, retailer Amazon.com this month is selling Killzone 2 below $55 in a new coupon promotion.

In the offer, customers who use the coupon code KZ2SAVE5 at checkout will receive an additional $5 off the $59.99 pre-sale price.

"Weekly Famitsu had a short feature celebrating PS3's 2nd anniversary (they put it as "PS3's 730 days in Japan") in issue 12/12 detailing the console's journey so far in Japan.

Besides looking back at some of the major events during the two years, the mag also asked some industry experts on their view about PS3's future. Some of them think Ad-Hoc Party, the new service that allows PSP games with local communication play functionality to be able to go online, will spurs PS3 sales. Others hope 45nm Chips can be introduced faster so we can have slimmer PS3.

As always, some sales data were shared. According to Enterbrain's data, 2,469,448 units of Sony's struggling console have been sold as at Nov 16 and below are the five best selling software on the system since its launch (also as at Nov 16)."

PSNow! reports that LittleBigPlanet's Sackboy will be having a special appearance in Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds on the 11th of December. No word on price yet.

This is not the first time that Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds receives love from other games. Some months ago we could see Kratos dropping his Blades of Chaos to play some golf.

Well, for all of you that so patiently waited for the Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds Demo, this one goes out to you: as of today, Thursday, June 26, 2008, all North American users can now download the HSG:OOB Demo from the PSN store!

The demo is quick in-depth sample of the Hot Shots Golf experience. You'll be able to start off with beginner character Jasmine, perfect the new advanced swing system and graduate onto intermediate player Felipe. If you've got a friend about, just jump into the offline multiplayer option (max 2 players) and hit the links.

Well for us at least.

And now, we're officially done with the production side (in a way) of things, and the past few year's worth of blood, sweat, and tears has finally come to fruition: Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds is officially available nationwide, at retail outlets near you.

I know we've been kinda quiet, and the questions have been building up; however, lest you think that we're all fun and games (well we are in a way) Â¿ we've been hard at work, like for example hosting various online tournaments both in person and virtually onlineÂ¿ and you can check out some of the results here, here, and here.
