GameXtract writes "A recent interview with a representative of Home was caught on tape, and lets just say that we will add this to our hard to watch videos. The audio, and video quality might hurt your eyes, and ears so we will cut to the chase with the information on the interview, and allow your eyes to see for an additional month, and allow your ears to last you for at least another couple of years. If you start watching at 4:30 they start talking about Home spaces, and at around 5:30 the representative mentions that you will in-fact not be able to play music or movies with Home, and share them with your friends..yet. He goes on to mention that their are more important features that the developers are working on, and that they would like to cover those first before moving onto sharing media content with friends. This can be a big let down in several ways, but lets hope that they can get around to it before a public release of the service. If you are willing to watch the video you can view it after the jump!"
A PS3 Fanboy tipster (left anonymous to protect his identity) told PS3 Fanboy about a new update to the Home beta. The update adds a few redesigned locales, like a brand new Home Square.

GameXtract writes "mbsaeger of the Playstation forums found some interesting content in the Home video from Leipzig Game Convention. The screenshots below were shown in the video for nearly a split second, and most users who commented have yet to see this room. If you view the images below you will notice that the room connects to several other spaces that specialize in different games. One for example being Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty seen in the second picture. Also if you have a sharp eye you might notice the Resistance logo on the right side of the third picture. Innervision96x who claims to be a beta tester has posted in the thread commenting that the room is locked off to beta testers."
VG247: Despite a complete no-show for Home in the Sony press conference at Games Convention last week, SCEE president David Reeves has moved to assure punters that the social app's development is completely on track, and that its open beta will begin this autumn as planned.

As you probably already know, there will be a Home expanded beta opening it's doors to a group of lucky PS3 owners by the end of the summer. While European PlayStation owners have received confirmation E-mails as well as previous Home beta testers, the rest of us are stuck wondering when we will receive our shot to experience the revolutionary social gaming application. Well, FeedonPS3 may have the answer you looking for.
TheSixthAxis: "We don't know whether this is the only round of emails or not, but the first batch of Home invites has just gone out - check your email to see if you're amongst the lucky few. We think it's Europe only at the moment, but this should expand to the States soon enough."
PlayStation.Blog: Today we're announcing the expansion of our closed beta test for PlayStation Home to begin at the end of the month.

SCE's UK Managing Director Ray Maguire has given a few insights concerning Sony's plans for the Leipzig Game Convention later this month as well as post-mortem thoughts on E3.
Tatsuya Suzuki and Jun Fujiki, lead developers on the PSP and PlayStation 3 puzzler echochrome, announced that a 2D version of the game is coming to PlayStation Home at an unspecified date. Instead of tapping into the PS3's 4D capabilities, the Japan Studios team is going in the other direction, presumably adhering to their gameplay credo of "getting people to play with rules and laws."
