PS3 News | Haze
Ubisoft has pulled the release dates issued earlier this week for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Haze, stating that the game is only confirmed for PS3. "Haze is only confirmed for the PS3. Neither PC or Xbox 360 are confirmed platform releases," the company said. "Officially Haze is a PS3 lead development, PC and 360 versions are not confirmed at this time. There was an error in a release schedule which went out, which is causing a lot of confusion right now." The Free Radical-developed ... » Read More

We've already raved about how good Free Radical Design's PS3 and Xbox 360 FPS Haze is looking after witnessing a gameplay demo a few weeks back. Now the studio that was responsible for TimeSplitters and Second Sight has sent us an in-house produced developer diary video that actually shows us some of the good stuff - ie. plenty of in-game footage and some pearls of wisdom from FPS demi-god David Doak (he worked on GoldenEye dontcha know). In particular we get to see some of the four-player ... » Read More

Remember TimeSplitters 2? Remember the monkeys? Derek Littlewood sure does - he's creative director on Free Radical Design's intriguing shooter, Haze. And he's so sick of people asking him "but where are the monkeys?" that he's felt moved to speak out and set the record straight. "There will be no damn monkeys in HAZE," Littlewood roars in an amusing column he's written for our friends at UK Xbox World 360 magazine. He goes on: "Not one. Not even a cute little zombified one. Or a robot one. Or ... » Read More

PS3 - Haze - War vets doing games is "There are some shooters that will bring in a war veteran to check and see whether their game is enough like that time all their friends got killed, so they can sell it as entertainment. Which is pretty f***ing bizarre!" Yescombe told Eurogamer during one of his Haze presentations at UbiDays last month.

"So what we're looking at with Haze thematically is, how are we presenting war as entertainment in videogames? Because, war isn't just black and white and good and evil; there's ambiguity."

Is Haze a PlayStation 3 exclusive, or not? That's the question that has puzzled the internet over the last week, with confusion obviously over whether Free Radical's challenging blastathon will make it to Xbox 360 or PC. For the definitive answer, GamesRadar tracked down publisher Ubisoft for an official response. Here's what it told us: "[Haze on] PS3 is confirmed for release this year. 360 and PC versions are not confirmed for release this year." We've also spoken to dev legend David Doak, ... » Read More

Future-war shooter Haze will team you up with some alarmingly outspoken AI comrades, promises David Doak, co-founder of developer Free Radical. Haze's mercenary-military action will put you in some very uncomfortable situations, but if you hesitate for a second your tooled-up soldier "buddies" are going to be hassling you mercilessly. "I don't think you will see in any other game points in the narrative, in cut-scenes or cinematic gameplay moments, where people are calling you a pussy - ... » Read More

PS3 - Haze - Haze Preview And Exclusive Screenshots Premiered at last years' E3, Free Radical's Haze caused quite a bit of buzz at the event. Coming from a developer with a rich FPS pedigree, with such games as GoldenEye, TimeSplitters and Second Sight on their resume, and originally billed as a squad-based first-person shooter, everything about Haze went silent after last year's big show. That is until just a few weeks ago, when Ubisoft held its perennial pre-E3 event, dubbed UbiDays.

GI got a few moments with Free Radical's Creative Director David Doak to find out everything that has changed with the game and to see what they have in store for gamers when the game is released for the PlayStation 3 this holiday.

PS3 - Haze - Petition: Make Haze a PS3 exclusive Sony ps3 fans request haze to be Exclusive. Now, the reasons for his request for exclusivity seem a bit weak. They believe that it has to be an exclusive if it is to become a Halo 3 killer. Additional reasons that he points to are Blu-Ray, which holds 50GB of data, and the PS3's processing power. They are afraid that it might be dumbed down due to the 10GB constraints of the Xbox 360 and PC.

PS3 - Haze - Haze PS3-only in '07 Console now "lead platform" for Ubisoft's next-gen sci-fi shooter--but still not exclusive; game to counter Halo 3 this fall, new screens inside.

With Killzone 2's release date still very much up in the air--more information is expected at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in July--it looked like there would be no PlayStation 3-exclusive first-person-shooter counterweight to Halo 3 this fall.

At Ubisoft's recent press event, Haze developer Free Radical told us the game is in development for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and not just PS3 as has been reported. During the Haze section of the Ubidays conference, the impressive-looking shooter was unveiled for the PS3 with no other systems mentioned. Haze was originally announced for all three systems in 2006 but the lack of any other system being mentioned for over a year, and the fact that the TimeSplitters team has a massive PlayStation ... » Read More

PS3 - Haze - Haze NOT PS3 exclusive - PC, 360 confirmed Haze was originally announced for all three systems in 2006 but the lack of any other system being mentioned for over a year, and the fact that the TimeSplitters team has a massive PlayStation heritage, seemed to point the finger of exclusivity at Sony and PS3.

This isn't the case though. During an exclusive interview Free Radical's Dave Doak told CVG that while the game is leading on PS3 there are also Xbox 360 and PC versions coming. Doak added that the team hasn't had any major issues developing for Sony's machine either.
