Arstechnica: There were many problems with Haze: even after numerous delays, there were still issues with low-end resolution, gameplay was painfully generic at best, vehicles controlled like bricks, and the storytelling elements were laughably bad. Honestly, it seems like the biggest mistake Free Radical made was actually putting this game into production, as it's been theorized that its critical lambasting and lack of sales played some role in the developer's demise. It turns out that nobody really wants anything to do with the game, including retailers.

Despite the unenthusiastic and often mediocre reviews and scores given to Haze, according to Develop, the game developers news site, Haze has come in as a new entry at number 12,just under Rock Band, the highest climber. It even beat the mighty Age of Conan which has come in as a new entry at number 13.

Haze and GTA IV battled it out last week for domination of the PS3 chart, but which game reigns supreme this week?
Exclusive to PS3 Attitude, this month's chart sees Haze take over the current rental top spot, and GTA: IV drops out of the pre-rent chart all together.
After picking up my copy of HAZE which is actually a solid shooter, and will tide any Ps3 owner over until Resistance 2 hits in November despite what our friends at IGN seem to believe.

With early reviews for Haze looking good (Famitsu 34/40 and Italian PSM 9/10), it came as a bit of a shock when IGN bestowed a dreaded 4.5/10 on the game in their review this morning. In curiosity, PSU.com contacted Rob Yescombe of Free Radical to hear what he had to say.
VG247: According to British press sources, online Haze reviews in the UK are being strictly embargoed until May 23, the game's release date.
