It sometimes seems as if a new music rhythm game is released every five minutes, but Harmonix honcho Josh Randall believes things may change in the future. Randall thinks that games like Rock Band may eventually abandon consoles altogether, instead taking the form of instruments with built-in music.

Slashgamer: Prince is considered to be one of the greatest musicians of our time. Honestly, even if for some reason you can't stand him, it's hard to argue his greatness, just look at his achievements. The artiest has won seven Grammy Awards, one Golden Globe and even an Academy Award for his work on Purple Rain. Even with his legendary work, comes controversy. Without me getting to much into it, just go to his Wikipedia page and look under 'controversy.' With that said, PBS asked Prince on his thoughts about Guitar Hero. Although he didn't necessarily criticizes the rhythm game, he just doesn't think it should be a substitute for playing an actual guitar.

Activision has announced Guitar Hero Greatest Hits, a compilation of the most famous and infamous tracks from Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Players will be able to play alone or as a full band to 48 master recordings of the most fan-favourite tracks. So far we have confirmation of eight of the most memorable songs that have been selected from Guitar Hero games: Them Bones by Alice in Chains, Queen's Killer Queen, Nothin' But A Good Time by Poison, Rage Against The Machine's Killing in the Name, I Wanna Rock by Twisted Sister, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts' I Love Rock N Roll, Heart's Barracuda and Dragonforce's Through the Fire and Flames.
