Madden NFL 09

Like a 13-10 overtime win, Madden 09 doesn't totally wow us but definitely gets the job done. Saddle us up for another season, even though we're a tad underwhelmed.

It took awhile, but Madden 10 hits the mark in so many ways. It’s easily the most family-friendly football game ever – and looks great too.

The hard tackles and tough plays of the Madden series are back. With updated tackling animations, streamlined play-calling, and the visuals showing the wear and tear players receive throughout the game will please fans of all kind. Offline franchise mode and the updated single-player Superstar are much improved.

Madden NFL 13

Madden NFL 13 brings a variety of major revamps into the franchise, including a career mode that's more RPG than gridiron, and a plethora of AI tweaks.

Mafia II

The sequel to the best-selling game Mafia again takes place in a time when gangsters were cool, liquor was something you could smuggle and everybody wore cool hats.

MAG

Kudos to Zipper for being trailblazers in terms of how many people you can cram into a game but beyond this USP, MAG is a fairly generic affair. It all works well but it isn't mind-blowing. And with a full-price tag, minus an offline campaign, it's hard to see where the value for money lies here.

Gaming's biggest collection of Marvel heroes in one place returns with some new tricks, but mostly feels too similar to the last version.

Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds

One of the most requested games of all time is finally on its way. Expect over-the-top special moves and reality crushing combos to usher in a new era of curly moustaches, Pringles chips and disparaging comments about the Knicks.

Mass Effect 2

BioWare's space-based RPG series continues as Shepard assembles a squad to lead a suicide mission against the Reapers.
