Jack Thompson fuelled by GTA IV prostitute-killing video

"GTA IV is the gravest assault upon children in this country since polio"

Attorney Jack Thompson has fired off his inevitable barrage against GTA IV, in part inspired by a video posted online depicting Niko killing prostitutes.

"Grand Theft Auto IV is the gravest assault upon children in this country since polio," said Thompson in a letter sent to the US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, according to Ars Technica.

"We now have vaccines for that virus... The 'vaccine' that must be administered by the United States government to deal with this virtual virus of violence and sexual depravity is criminal prosecutions of those who have conspired to do this."

"If you doubt me, look at the aforementioned streaming audio/video. It will make you sick."

The video he refers to is 'Ladies of Liberty City,' a compilation of in-game GTA IV footage posted by IGN. In the video, Niko shoots multiple prostitutes without provocation, visits a lap dancing bar, makes whoopee to a 'sex worker' and then runs her over. Amongst other things.

As a result of the footage, Thompson has demanded for legal action to be taken against Take-Two and retailers for selling the game.
